Ah, I should go back there soon again. Tough to get visible traffic trails in SG though, the roads are too well lit.

For the last posted, I found the BnW processing a bit too gritty for my liking. Maybe lessen the structure a bit?

Yeap, if only we could physically remove all those lamp-posts. :bsmilie: I tend to go a little overboard with the structure during B&W conversion in SEP, haha! Will try to keep it in check next time.

Black card technique; 10s for foreground, 1s for sky. Single-exposure; not a blended/HDRI/GND-filtered image.

Wow, that's another beautiful photo :)

I'm new to black card photography.. Just want to check, how fast do you shake the card at the horizon and how much distance (up and down) to shake ? I tried on a few occasions , but most of time only got a distinct line across the horizon if I'm lucky, and off the horizon if I'm not. :(

Thanks you !

Hi, I really appreciate your dropping by my thread. ;) I shake the card rather rapidly and the amplitude of shaking(up and down motion) depends on the height of the buildings or the 'GND effect' that I want to achieve. Usually it takes a few tries to get the result that I'm looking for. Thanks for asking!

Had to do HDR for this one; the dynamic range is just too high. This place is amazingly difficult to compose though; I had to force myself to process this shot - I felt that the angle could have been better.

Very nice reflection :) btw where is this place ?

#245. Curvaceous

Nice capture.... and I really like the way it all curves into the centre.. As for the angle, I would lower the camera to get that front part really distorted and a more drastic curve towards the centre.. Maybe don't need so much sky too... This is just me...

Thank you, Manita. :) I wasn't too pleased with the result too; would have wanted a lower angle but I felt that the railings would block too much of the windows on the right of the frame. Since it's part of my school, I might head back there to try it out again. The curvy structure of the ADM building really boggles my mind; found it tough to get a decent composition there.

Black card technique; 8s for foreground, 2s for sky. Single-exposure; not a blended/HDRI/GND-filtered image.
Reached Kranji Reservoir just in the nick of time to catch the magical glow, felt that this composition could have been better.

Photo by Scholesville, who so nicely helped me shoot what I love doing most and provided me with the raw file. Do visit him!

Kinda like a behind-the-scenes shot.
