Personally, I find the glare in #1 a little too distracting. Somehow, it takes away the attention from the school.

I love #2 though. I love the way the sunrays are captured and how the rays lead down to the school of fish below. Nice shot! :)

how are these in color?

Slides......so much tougher to get it right then digital. Good effort. I like #2 too beocs of the sunbursts.

This is at the drop off in the morning?

i agree with u, the sunburst is a bit too strong......a stop or 2 down should give a more pleasant mood.....

only the last pic is in colour...

yup this is at the entry point to the drop off.....but in the afternoon.....it was in very shallow water...less than 10m......u can spend more than an hour with them if u have a digital camera....i finish my 36 frames :( in about 25 mins......

here is the last one in colour.....personally i prefer it in b&w.....

Woo, I prefer it in colour. More post-processing can be done, in my view. For one, the glare is too overwhelming and attention-seeking, drags the focal away.

Wow... I agree with Slivester. I prefer it in colour too! You can actually see the texture and depth of the photo better in colour..:D

maybe the shadows are too strong in the B&W version? I'm leaning towards the B&W one..have a thing for B&W shots.

great stuff, btw! love the drop-off...wonderful nudibranchs in 5m of water..could've spent an hour there!

I like how the sunrays 'wraps' around the school in #2.

You went Bali again recently huh? ;)

will do some adjustments and see how it is.....

the shadow can be adjusted further i think....have to spend more time in front of the screen..ya......interesting dive site..........despite the fact that it may seem rather boring...

given the more affordable air tic and quality of dives u can get.....i just can't resist the lure....

If you could tear away from the glare in #1 for a moment (maybe like you said, stop down 1 or 2 stops more), and perhaps had the opportunity to tilt the camera upwards a tinny bit more (and leave a little less black space below), then the dynamics of the #1 would make it the overwhelming winner.

My viewpoint is purely from the dynamics of the school. Technically I agree with all the gurus here that #2 is technically superior. But you can't beat the dynamism in the first shot. Sayang...

The last one is nicer in bw, IMHO.

Hey,,,guess..wat..I got similar pic taken from Layang Layang. hahaha.......

No offence meant, but your photo is somewhat weaker. The dynamics of the school is very strong in h2o's shot, much weaker in yours.

But I love the breakaway...

And I can't do any of these as my widest is 28mm, and my strobe is tinny, and Bali may be too cold, current too strong.... sobb...

Good job, bro.

Good job, bro.

the water temp in tulamben is not too cold.......a hood with 3mm full suit should be quite comfortable.....however, if u are diving in nusa penida, then it is best to get extra layer......i have to drink a lot to get "divers' warmth";)
