Thanks, bro... the surroundings were already dark to start with, and during PP, i darkened it a little more but not so much coz i don't want to lose the details of the crowd. Well, there's really no other way to get these shots except wait for the person to walk into a patch of light, then click - using 'spot' metering will help enhance the isolation of the subject the shot is even better if only 1 person is illuminated by the shot (as you see in the photo).

What do you mean by 'behind the scenes' series? Do you mean 'how to' tips? Well, it's just about finding the right location, with the right light, and having the right subject walk right in it You can shoot from a slight distance or very near the subject, either way I always prefer to shoot in their front view, not from the side... i feel it's a much better perspective. Try to shoot very quickly and avoid any eye contact to not make the subject uncomfortable. Sometimes I wait in one spot for an hour and get no good shots.. sometimes I wait for 10 minutes and get loads. I guess patience is key

Why would you need a Tripod? Just stand there and wait.
Keep your camera low and only raise it when necessary. Know how the frame and picture before you even raise the camera.

You can either avoid eye-contact afterwards and stare into blank space, or say hi to them.

I basically look for a good location with good light, then stand and look around in all directions for any potential subjects. Then when I see a good subject, I wait for the right moment until they are near enough and at the right light, then i raise my cam and click.
