Scanning film

Hey guys,

I've been considering recently of jumping to film, however I'm having some issues understanding how exactly to develop the film.

I am thinking of using scanners but how do I even get the film ready to scan?

If any of you know a step to step guide to get film ready to scan, please advise me.

Thanks for all your help. Hope to hear from you soon.

step 1 - shoot
step 2 - develop your film into negative
step 3 - scan your negative

google and do your research. i can do so, so can you.

Thanks for your reply!

How much does it roughly cost to develop film to negative at stores?

Thanks

Triple D at Burlington Sq charges $3 for developing negatives and $5 to scan. $5 to develop B&W negs and $5 to cross process slides. If you wanna shoot slides the only commercial lab that does it is Foto Hub, a better option would be getting Losheng to do it for you.

Hope it helps

They have machines to dev colour/C-41 negs which consume minimal chem(correct me if I'm wrong) and effort. For traditional black and white film, you have to do it manually.

Thanks Riotbmx for so kindly answering members’ queries so precisely. As i casually browse through this thread I learned and kept informed too. Keep it up, I am a senior citizen :)
