My favourite shot among all. Very dramatic!

beautiful shots.

Overdone HDRs perhaps but very dramatic though!

Its really beautiful. Well done:cheers:

many times strongly saturated pictures are awful. but yours is awesome.

however i think since all your shots are wide angle landscape with many buildings and lots of details, larger picture will be nicer.

Nice photos... maybe you can post slightly bigger photos?

Thanks guys for all the kind comments! I will try to improve next time and post bigger pics =)

Once again, thanks for viewing

Wah..i stay in sweden for nearly 2yrs liao..didnt see so beautiful view..perharp end of May i going over to stockholm try to take some nice shot like yours...

I suppose "overdone" HDR is probably a matter of preference. The outcome is also dependent on the subject and other accompanying PP work. This series works for me due to the aesthetics of the PP work done compared to capturing the real color of the place.

Scandinavia is amazing! So are your photographs.:thumbsup:

why i say overdone, just to elaborate, these are pushed pretty hard in photomatix from my experience.

it is clear that the strongest light source is from the left, but why are the buildings on the left getting lighted up, unevenly at that?

the water in the foreground, the blue is way too intense, i still can take that, but it is brighter than anything else in the scene, which does not make any logical sense.

such problems with the hierarchy of light are inherent here and there, but i do like central station (though i would like to see it larger, some flaws can be hidden by limited size, i.e. noise, softness) and stadhuset.

i must say, i really dislike the color palette chosen in oslofjord.

perhaps ts chosen a more surrealistic approach to his works? or whatever that word encompasses..

i quite like them though personally i'd still prefer true-to-life colours..

I think composition wise the pictures are all fine - centrally placed and symmetrical and usually you cant do much wrong with that. But the colors are really a bit too jarring for my preference.

The high saturation of the yellow/orange/red on the floor on this shot is just too 'blinding'.

I just think its a question of learning to control the saturation .

surrealistic or not, the hierarchy of light should not be lost.

surrealism needs to be grounded firmly in reality, else how can we relate to it?

but anwyays, this is just a personal view, i will not post here any longer lest there is more ot.

Your comments here are much appreciated as it give a different perspective of how people view photos. It'll be boring if all see things the same way with respect to art :)

kind of agree with you on the bright blue portion of the waters, not a significant priority to me but definitely can be improved on.

as for the uneven lighting on the building on the left. i think it may still be acceptable due to the angle of the lighting.

and no, it is not OT. such opinions are invaluable, especially when you point out the specifics.
