bro, not true leh.
singaporeans are good at complaining and we usually complained everything,
but those that was planned to increase has increased w/o failed.
so far, i've not seen any revert of plan due to people power in singapore.
singaporeans have no power. :cry:

If we all filled the government forums with complains about this price increase, and then jam their website like what we did for this thread, then we can see if they really listen! I don't think their website is better than CS and can take such traffic...

when is about this type of dirty affair, ppl remember the opposition.
when is time to show our support for them, all the votes go to the govt.

I am not about to spark off a political debate here. This issues is not a dirty affair. Is an affair that concern Singaporean who are affected by the price increase.
I do not think all votes goes to the government during the election?? The opposition got a fair share of the votes as well except they did not make it all the way. We have opposition as MP and NMP as well. So, they do not have responsibilities to speak out?:dunno:
Is there any logic that they are not the government and thus we do not expect them to voice out until the next election rally?:dunno: If this is the case, my votes will goes to the government who support the increase in fare now.:bsmilie:

As I said already before.... if you are opposition member of parliament, you are a "trouble maker" if you question the government policies. By the way, I didnt coin that term, it was coined by a lady member of parliament from the team in white, last I heard an apology was even made by her. As for opposition members who are not in parliament, what someone said is correct... would they even make it to the news and where on earth are they going to speak when any public speaking is subjected to police approval.... which we all know is not going to be granted.
And your logic is you support the present government just because they say that they support the increase?? I cannot understand your logic......
ain't that the top performers of the respective sectors?

Well..we are not in the parliament and we do not know precisely how the opposition MP or NMP could speak out on such issues. Of course one of the avenues is that they could speak out in the next parliament sitting. It is only they who knows the best how they could voice out on such matters under their responsibilities given. They still need to speak out even though they were term as "Trouble Maker" right?:think: How far can they be seen as trouble maker if the debate facts are in place and they can bring out the issues as a responsible opposition figure?
I guess most of us just wanted to have a voice to speak out on such issues even though we know the price increase will still take place....for sure!:bsmilie:
BTW, I mentioned the votes for the government for the price increase........take it easy... I am just trying to pull off some jokes on the white and opposition here.:bsmilie:

erh...... there are a lot of other industries are not doing well leh.... if you happen to be such industries... you will know..... so cannot listen to one side of the story... there are another side of the story to listen too..... ;p
just curious... were there fare reductions during the bad times... when the economic growth is going south?
what if there's an energy crisis (like another gulf war) and due to this, operating costs affect companies from all sectors. and due to high operating costs, companies tend to cut back on salary cost and jobless rate increases?
can the transport providers still use the rising energy cost as a reason for fare increase? if they can, then it is not in-line with the economic growth right?

There were no price reduction.... but i think they got more customers cos a lot of people avoid taking taxi during that time.... don't think there is a price increase also.... cos they got more customers mah... :bsmilie:
so it's status quo when times are bad and profit increase when times are good. from the way i see it, consumers are screwed in all ways.

In theory, with the new fare calculation formula, they are supposed to reduce fares during economic crisis. Whether that will happen in the next crisis is anybody's guess.
