Hmmm... i took up photography for only 1 month, cannot give u much comments.
But i like the first pic, find it very well focused and sharp.

The rest, take care of the background as it's snatching attention from the subjects.

I think you are not doing justice to the 1D MKII with 100mm Macro. Initially I thought you might be using some non-macro lens for these shots thus I asked. The background is far too distracting and the subjects are lacking in details with the exception of the first one. With such sophicated equipment combination, I am expecting a lot more than these. Just some personal feedback. Hope you don't mind.

Don't worry about it... I'm not offended... Honestly, I just got the macro lens so I'm trying to put myself and the lens through its (and my) paces... This is the first time of mine hunting dragonflies and first time using this lens for its macro function. I honestly hope to learn more from the others and use these pictures to help myself.

yup, I too agree with xmen, coming from a pro body and one of the sharpest macro lenses around, u ought to do better than this... out of all the shots, #1 is my fav. but I think you need more up your fstop to get more DOF and perhaps flash to fill the subject (optional)

for white flower, try not to over blow the white

Hi, I just realised... I forgot that I left my aperture set at f/4 all the time... no wonder the bokeh wasn't good... pai seh pai seh... :embrass:

Quite scary, plan to go there walk walk breath some fresh air and 1st thing i saw was a army of soldiers all taking state-of-the-art weapon at the SBG gate. I think it's abt a size of a platoon. Every 5 steps I took there was one aiming at something

That I totally agree. It goes to show that it is indeed the eye behind the camera that makes all the difference not the camera n equipment that matters.

Hi, would like to say... Please don't judge me by my equipment... I'm here to learn photography from you guys. It doesn't matter even if I come out with a medium format digital back...

I'd like to get some constructive feedback about my pics, especially composition and colour-wise... I've sorted out the mistake about the distracting background in the photos but really would hope for some constructive comments.
