Anyway I agree with your points about having a more easily-understood explanation, and also about the charging circuitry voltages. I'm no expert, but your explanation sounds logical and plausible.
My point about the difference between amp-hour and amp is that a 2200mAh battery need not necessarily be able to provide a current of 2.2A (2200mA). It means that it can supply a total electrical charge (energy) of 2.2Ah, that's all.
Similarly, my car's battery is rated at 70Ah. But that does not mean I am able to draw 12V x 70A = 840W of power.
