Yeah I guess it is safer to get the black set with warranty. Btw, Sigma also has flashe units that can be used as an alternative to the SB800:

Anyone has experience on these Sigma flash units, care to share your experiences?

search the buy and sell forum for nikon ef-500, only 3 post, and they are posted years ago. nobody uses sigma flashes for nikon camera, esp the digital bodies. i do have the ef-500 st, but that's for a film body.

Why worry so much on shutter count? :dunno:

You can press the "Test Flash button" and estimate the time it takes for the "Flash ready" light to be lit after discharge.

If Battery is Full, it shld be very fast. If battery is weak you will notice a delay.

Firstly, I lazy to delete the files one by one.

Secondly, everytime I format the card, it will initialize the card.

Also, it will give a count of how many shots I've taken so far in a particular shoot, and I don't have the habit of retaining the "file sequence numbering".

It is not a must to format the CF everytime, but it's a personal habit of mine.
