Don't worry, the Compact Flash normally very tough.
If the CF defect it will normally happen in few weeks time. Once you use for few weeks and the CF still working means it will at least work for 5 years by care.

The 5 years warranty actually we are paying more for the insurance fees

But www.flashcard-bestbuy.com is selling the exact Sandisk 256MB CF card @$79 with 5yrs 1-1 exchange warranty somemore. So your $82 price covers less insurance than the $79 price tag? :dunno:
