Samyang T-S 24mm

Huh... 14-24 is not tilt shift.
Ultra wide angle and tilt shift are different functions. Cannot compare them directly.

Yeah the 14-24 is not a TS lens.
I'm just wondering what other alternatives are there for Nikon users for the 17mm tse since Nikon doesn't make them.
Going out and grab a Canon body just for the 17mm tse is not very cost efficient. lol

These 2 shots were done with the TS-E 17mm. Note the geometric distortion on the top most part of the frame. Depending on the angle you take the shots and the height of the building, these distortions will vary.

I've tried the Canon 17mm and 24mm tse and I must say these two lenses are very impressive. The 24mm PCE gets very obvious fall offs when shifted max while the 24mm TSE is not.

The TS-E 24mm is physically bigger with a 82mm filter thread. I suspect this is the reason why it can resolve these issues better then the PC-E 24mm.

The TS-E 17mm is the only one of its kind, no alternatives. It might not be cost efficient for a hobbyist to get a new camera just so he can use a specific lens but for working professionals, it does make sense if they need the lens. The TS-E 17mm does open doors to opportunities previously not available.

Most of the examples posted here looked like they could have been achieved using perspective correction in Photoshop or with DxO's Viewpoint software. Might as well go that route, not to mention much cheaper and easier for a hobbyist instead of investing thousands of $ on hardware to get the same kind of effect especially if one is not making any money out of those shots.

Correcting perspective distortions in post will result in deterioration of image quality and undesirable cropping if you didn't plan for it. Of course, how significant are these drawbacks will depend on how much you correct. If you can live with it, then yeah, stick with software correction.

it's discipline to do it in camera in one shot.

ok now back to the topic, where can I get the Samyang lens and who are the ones doing the warranty cover?

Black Market Camera at Peninsula Shopping Center has it, but the last i checked it was an EF mount.

Might have to order though. And it might be shop warranty only

I went to check at sgcamerastore and they don't have ready stock.

Are the warranties for Samyang all covered by shop only?
