Thinking of getting Samsung Syncmaster 215TW for photo-editing as well as for DVD watching using its S-video or Component inputs. Does anyone know whether it is available in SG and how much does it cost?

The specifications of 215TW is as follow:
  • 21" (wide) viewable area;
  • 8ms response time (grey-to-grey);
  • 300cd/m² brightness;
  • 16.7 millions colour
  • 1000:1 contrast ratio;
  • DVI (with HDCP), VGA, Component, S-Video, Composite inputs;
  • Adjustable height, tilt, swivel and pivot;

Thanks.

Called Ban Leong. The price is $1288, might get it at the end of the year.

For this price you might as well get a NEC 21" Multisync. Much better than Samsung in my opinion.

By the way, I am using a 19" Samsung T-series as my secondary monitor (for email and web mainly) and I can tell you the NEC render colors and skin tones more accurately (after calibration of course).

I feel the same way too. I think it is too much money to pay for a 21 inch wide monitor, even thought the Samsung 215TW received favourable reviews. When I first learned about the price which Ban Leong quoted you, I was actually quite 'shocked' :o ....

Maybe, you should also consider the Apple Cinema Display, since many people have testified that it actually worked quite well on PCs as well.

The Dell 24" only costs 2/3 the price and comes with 30 day money back guarantee.
