Samsung NX10 - mirrorless camera concept

Going to rename this thread and later move this out. Thanks for reading and contributing.

I was also misled that Samsung was releasing a m43 standard camera. As the release date draws near, it seems like it is not true.

Samsung first announced this shortly after the joint Micro FourThirds announcement by Panasonic and Olympus, and back then Samsung sent out a press release saying they would be realising their own mirrorless camera to try to steal attention away from the Oly/Pana m43 announcement.

In the press release Samsung did state it would be based on the APS sensor, so I don't know who would come up with the idea that it would be based on the Micro FourThirds platform/sensor.

Only reason why I could think of is because it's being discussed on the 43Rumours site, and people didn't read the entire story there.

So when the FF with the same concept??:bsmilie:

The technology will eventually lead to mirrorless, eletctronic shutter designs in future. And CDAF techonology advancements will eventually make PDAF obsolete (mainly because CDAF does not require calibration thus reducing manufacturing costs). We will see... Canon definitely have something good in mind too... they might surprise everyone... not forgetting Sony with deep R&D pockets as well. Which means Nikon have a lot to catch up being the company with the shallowest pocket in terms of R&D money.

But don't be surprise black horses like Ricoh or Pentax can blow the big boys out of the water. Who knows. Ricoh at one time boasts one of the fastest CDAF cameras with their GR range. So the race is on for new technology releases. Canon keeping so quiet at the moment means something is brewing within the room marked "EVIL". LOL! :bsmilie:

Competition is good. As a photographer this means more choices of tools. Mirrorless design benefits those who are into street and travel photography.

On the other hand, medium format camera prices are falling (in some cases)... this is good news for many professional photographers.

compactness is catching up trend nowadays! its give people the features of DSLR but minus the size and weight!

like many said, depends what you type of photography you are taking, then choose the gear to suit the need.
