Can check out http://www.reidreviews.com if you are a subscriber. The M8 Part 2 review is up with images. Compares 100% crops of images from the M8 at all the ISOs to images from a 5D at similar ISOs. So you can see the difference in noise and detail at all ISOs. Interesting read.

I don't think I'll want to pay for the subscription to know the answer.

I'm not one who pixelpeep.

The M8 can't be a bad and lousy camera with poor images compared to the current top cameras like the 5D / 1Ds MK II or the Nikons.

On the other hand, I don't think that it is any much better than the rest.

actually Reidreviews.com is not a pixel peeping site - more in the vein of Luminous landscape type of reports, but more in depth in its analysis and conclusions.

but u're right to say in general the image quality should be right up there with the best of the current crop of DSLRs. So all things being equal, the choice of whether to buy it depends on whether you wish to shoot the RF style or the SLR viewing system.

I don't expect the M8 to be significant than the rest of the 10MP camera but Michael Richmann from LL says that

"....this camera is outstanding, producing some of the most remarkable image quality that I've ever seen from any camera, film or digital."


Interesting.... looking forward to his report next Monday.
