after looking at it more, i feel it looks like a silver 75-300 and some other normal silver lens:think: they intending to drop the white finish?

Not a bad thing actually. Nowadays whenever people see a white lens they will 'presume' that it's a Canon lens. Little did they know that we had white lenses too way back in the Minolta film days.

Black Nikon? All Nikon lenses are black no? The golden band marks the special Nikon lenses right?

And tamron... And Sigma... And Minolta G...

The 70-400 G will be a monster lens... a bit too heavy... Likely to be even larger than the 100-400 APO which is already very heavy although more compact...

It actually looks to be the same size as the 70-200 f/2.8 G SSM.

Which is in itself too large and heavy to handhold for an extended period... I tried using a Sigma 70-210 f/2.8 that I bought second hand... I had a hand ache, plus a shoulder ache and a cramped palm after like 1 hour holding it to shoot some performances... oh the 70-400 is 1.5kg heavy... the A900 is 850g... that makes for 2.3kg and if you put on a flash that weighs another 500g, that makes almost 3 kg... think of carrying around a desktop replacement laptop which comes with a 17" screen... not funny...
