SAL 16105 vs 18250

I think it's to prevent zoom creep on some of the lenses.

now.. why do you want to lock it at a specific focal length?

dunno ~

coz i thought to zoom it at 35mm and test to shoot for a day or two... to see whether i wan to buy the 35mm or not ~~ haaa;p

You should not base your purchase decision on the ratings. I think it is best for you to test both lenses first hand yourself. IMO, I feel that the AF for the 16105 is very fast and not noisy.

Also, it really depends if you need the extra reach.

I love the 16-105mm for the wideness. It has replaced my kit lens and I will definitely bring this lens coupled with the 11-18mm during my overseas trips.

the ratings are done by a random sample of people all over the world and hence the ratings will be subjected to a margin of error. 0.2 would probably fall within that statistical random error, so yea.
