I wanna get my hands on the prints. Dont think of getting an enlarger (as of now) as it isnt tat practical for me though.

I have look through a few reputable places like PSS, PAS and SAFRA that offers darkroom facilities for members.

I have narrow down my choices to SAFRA as they have a new darkroom with 15 enlargers and etc.

But before i commit myself to their membership scheme, I would like to find out more from the existing members who are in this forum regarding the facilities.

- Do I have to join their BW courses ($126) before I can use their darkroom facilities?
- What are the equipments they provide beside enlargers ? e.g. timers, easel, developing equipments and etc.
- What is the time allocate for each booking of darkroom? (I assume ONE booking per enlarger).

Hopefully someone can enlighten me with the qns mentioned above. Lastly, can I take a short tour around the darkroom before commiting myself?

Thanks in ad ...

PS: I have emailed the person in charge, but it always takes about 3 days to reply me and often, without the ans to my qns.

hmmmm... i am already a safra member...do i have to sign up with the safrapc to use their facilities??

yah, it's $18 per yr ...

Why don't you just call them? If they're not around, leave a message and they'll get back to you.

yah lor, then darkroom should be very big one ..... or many small darkrooms

Hee~! Keep me informed, would yar? My own darkroom isn't complete yet to do any proper printing... would be especially interested if their enlarger could print anything bigger than 6x7. :D

Hi, like the thread starter mentioned, they do not normally reply to email.... You need to be a SAFRA member before you can join the Photographic Club from what I knew of from an earlier call with them last week. You might want to call them up for more information, their guy seems quite polite although not much information I could get.

the new guy is brian. not familiar yet, i supposed, also slow or does not respond to email.

Yeps, U need to join SAFRA, then join the Photo Club.

Not to sure abt now but it used to a be a good deal because with this membership and proof that u can handle darkroom equipment, use of the darkroom equipment as well as chemicals is free as long as you are a member throughout the year.

It is a good deal because the SAFRA fee $36 and PC fee $18 can only pay for 2-3 hrs of use anywhere else.

coolz ... thanks go down there this wkend or next to look at the darkroom

anyone knows if SAFRAPC has a website to promote their courses (particularly darkroom course) or anywhere i can pick up a brochure?

You might want to call them at 63773682 to ask....

If the course is on, u can log on to the web. but its safer for u to call them.
