Safe to buy from SLR Revolution???

I have purchased 2 compact cams from SLR Revolution so far becos they offered pretty attractive prices.

However, I noticed that the bundled memory card (Kingston) is in loose form and without any packaging.

Question is are they genuine cards? Or refurbished cards? Are we really getting a good deal from SLR Revolution?

Issue is without the official packaging, it means they may not enjoy the same warranty terms.

Perhaps its better to make the trip down to canon and claim it yourself. Canon for example give cards in original packaging if I am not wrong. SLR told me they give us first and claim from Canon later..... but why are they different from what Canon is giving?

:thumbsup::thumbsup: do ur homework first;)

+1 not sure about the card deals,

but i've bought several lenses from them, no problems so far, and of course cheapest out of the few trusted shops around.

but to ea his own uh, i know some won't buy from SLRr.

Bought lenses from them before. I don't think shops with competitive gear prices will sell fake cards.

Personally bought my camera, lenses, and flash from them. Would say service is good (they dun anyhow recommend) and price reasonable if not cheaper than other shops.

safe to buy slrr? Yes.

Will I buy from them? Nope.

I had bought camera, lens and gears from them before. They are good fellas, and discuss with you on layman terms without getting too technical. And had a very competitive prices among the "trusted shops" in Funan.

I would say i left the happy all the times.

But then i not sure about the memory card thingy, because when i got my dslr body from them, they gave me a brand new card still sealed inside the packing but i highly doubted they would give you fake cards.

yes, the card collected from Canon is in a sealed package - similar to the ones you get from shops.

Why SLR Revo can issue the card and w.o the sealed packing..hmm

Sometimes loose cards without packaging are bundled with cameras

why let those card that probably cost less than $30 to deter u from buying from them? :dunno:

really? usually i get my bundled deals with the card still sealed in the packaging. cuz i know some shops usually have loose cards lying around for testing purposes.

i used to work for a certain large electronics retailer. those loose cards used for "testing" are also part of the selling stock, so occasionally these get bundled with the cameras

now that certainly shines some light and puts people at ease that they aren't fake. and then again, even if they are fake, it's up to the buyer already.

usually loose cards are those low speed right?
any SLRRev got very decent price , last quote D700 was 30xx with GST?

honestly, how many people use the free cards?

usually a few months after that upgrade already. ;p

In regards to your thread topic, Yes. Bought my 5d2 from them. Best price given, cash paid, i'm a happy user. :)

I bought a macro len from them. no problem.

Any purchase from any shop do verify by yourself first. Reason, some of repu shop lend the lens for customer to test., good service. But the customer might accident damage and return and salesman might not observed and put back due to packed weekend. You become victim and complaint after not careful checking and purchase it.

have bought my D90 from them when they were still on lvl 5... after they moved to their new shop space i also bought a lens fr them. i find their price is the best i can find so i buy fr them. n so far no problems at all.. can't rem how my bundled SD card came in, but i still use it no probs, anyways SD cards so damn cheap nowadays can just buy new n faster ones so no need to worry lah. as long as the set comes w prob packaging n warrantly n a good price just go ahead

So far their products and service are reliable. Good discount.

if you want to check if your cards are real of fake, i think you may be able to enter the serial numbers at the manufacturer pages to verify, at least i know for lexar it is so, kingston shld be too?

if you dont trust them, just say you will collect the cards from canon yourself.
