It is very safe to buy from Amazon. However they may not be able to ship outside USA.

how to know if it ship to SG? create a amazon account and set shipping address to SG. don't worry. add the item to cart and proceed to checkout.

There will be warranty for purchases from amazon only when the item states international warranty.

Although stuffs like canon lenses now doesnt have warranty, i still get from them as the savings are substantial..

There will not be any local warranty. In case of any faults, you'll have to ship the item back

And note that there's a 7% gst charge imposed by the local customs

If you want a definitive answer, I think you'd better ask THEM i.e. Amazon and Olympus Singapore.

Generally, I believe local distributors treat grey market products differently (can you blame them?), whether it's cars or cameras.

You could check Wikipedia for some basics: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon.com - Asking whether it's safe to buy is like asking whether it's safe to drink water from PUB.
Read the fine prints on Amazon product website, they clearly state the terms and conditions for shipment and warranty. Very likely, the bundled US warranty is not valid in Singapore. So it's either ship the camera back to Amazon or pay the repair done by local Service Center. But if you are asking about safety and stuffs you would be better off with a local set where you can see sales man and a service staff face to face.

Since there is nothing mentioned about warranty it is best to assume that there is none. In best case there is a form of warranty but it would require you to send the camera back to US, at your own expenses.
