S90 underwater casing

oops typo. i dont know about the s90, have not used it but the other modes av/tv in G11 seem to allow ttl.

what i meant was, is there an u/w housing for the s90 that is similar to the ikelite housing for the G11 that has a flash sync cord? so that the flash is not dependable on the built in flash of the camera? not sure if im making sense but ive seen people place an optical cable in front of the camera flash which would then trigger the strobe. i would prefer one that has a direct cord of some sort....

If you're talking about the S90, it has no hot shoe, thus no electrical connection. Only way to trigger an external strobe is thru the camera's onboard flash. There's TTL on the camera flash in some modes but i'm pretty sure not in Manual mode. If your camera flash is TTL, then using fibre optics to trigger a strobe like those from Inon and Sea & Sea will give you pretty reliable expousure via their S-TTL and E-TTL systems.

a) you can change aperture and shutter speed on the canon housing. Just press the shortcut button and then press the left/right button on top of the scroll wheel to change either aperture or shutter speed.

b) for macro adaptors, there are a couple of OEM brands available from 10 Bar or Fun-In Taiwan in addition to dyron. For wide angle there are push-on WA adaptors from fantasea amongst other brands i believe.

There's actually plenty of support for the G10/11 canon housings due to it's popularity.

Ikelite sells the neccessary screws and adaptor pieces. better to get the original stuff for convenience.

ya, i know ...
but just lazy to head down to scubacam ...
anyway ... i confirmed it was not M5 screw ...
maybe it was those english unit screw ...

Most of the more experienced/advanced shooters will use manual. For macro can start at your min aperture, usually f8 although the old olympus C-7070 which i used last time could do f11. shutter can be anywhere between 1/125 to 1/500 also no problem. For WA usually can start at f6.3 and 1/60?
ISO at lowest for minimal noise, spot metering.
