You may want to post this question in the newbie corner to get some answers.

I'm using Slik Sprint Pro .......$85.

For your questions, do a search in clubsnap and you will find lots of answers to similar questions.

This is a good read for tripod 101 which answers lots of your questions too : http://www.prime-junta.net/pont/Pontification/a0099_Tripods_101/_Tripods_101.html

I'm using SLIK Sprint PRO GM, very light wt and the legs can be opened indepently

oh yes just want to ask, does the sprint pro come w/ a QR plate? if not, do i have to change to a new ball head that supports the use of a QR plate?

Hi, any recommendation for add ons to S6500fd to take macro and wide angle??

Hi, any recommendation for add ons to S6500fd to take macro and wide angle??

Bought a 0.5x converter fm MS awhile back; it's the Pro TAMA SRW-05. Good and affordable lens. Work very well for indoors

No. The Slik Sprint Pro GM doesn't come with a Quick Release plate.

I suppose all you need to do is to screw out the existing plate and replace it with a QR plate since the existing plate can easily be taken off.

Do a search in the forum. I have read in the past many times in clubsnap that people replaced the whole ball head + plate with something better because the ball head and hence the camera tends to creep down a little as you tighten the ball head.

Some fashion show pictures taken on 13 Oct at Vivocity. Still have many pictures taken of other fashion shows on the same day at Vivocity but no time to post-process them yet. Shot a total of about 350 pictures for 3pm, 5pm and 8pm shows.

Here are the ones for 3pm : (Fresh! The Graduate Showcase)

Exif are in the pictures.

Manual exposure (to have full control over aperture (Depth of Field) and shutter speed (avoid motion blur)
All at ISO 400.
Shutter speeds 1/250-1/320.
Aperture : usually largest at the focal length used....between F/4-F/5 so that the background is not too much in focus.

Post-processing done in Photoshop CS2 for the pictures except Pic#1 : Crop + adjusted any slant, WB adjustments through channel mixer (by keeping a watch over the R/B/G channel histograms), slight exposure adjustment (since the pictures were purposely marginally under-exposed to reduce the risk of blowing out the highlights), Slight Noise reduction with Noise Ninja (to make the pictures look cleaner without losing much details), resized down, used lasso tool to select the main subject and sharpened with Unsharp Mask, inverse the selection and adjusted the selection and then applied some blur to background.

For ease and for the benefits of S6500fd users, I will just append the pictures to this thread.

#9 (the 2 heads are seen here again but the shoes are too interesting to be chopped off. I think the shutter speed wasn't fast enough to freeze the fast swinging of the stomach area with dangling keys.).

Thanks.

I think there is probably still lots of room for improvement.

Still needs some experts to give pointers.

In the past, there were a few critical forumers who frequently gave harsh comments but good pointers on how to improve.

These days, I see the gallery forums have degenerated to only see ing frequent back-patting which is usually more harmful than good. Very often, I'm puzzled why some of the person's buddies never tell the poster that his picture's whites are blown or it's slanted or too noisy etc. As a result, the same mistakes get repeated over and over again till today, more than 2 years after joining clubsnap.

Also we have the "professional" back-patters who go around patting backs even when the pictures are bad and the mistakes are so glaring. These are the ones whose pictures also never improve much over time because they also get back-patted in return when they posted their pictures.

I notice that many old timers have vanished or have refrained from giving pointers. I miss the good old days.
