Haven't try Sigma's 30mm. I tried the AFS 50mm, the AF is pretty slow. I would get the Sigma version if I need a 50mm.

Good choice. My Sigma 50mm f1.4 performs miracles on my S5 Pro. Now I am aiming for Nikkor 70-200mm.

This is one of the many shots I took using the Sigma 50mm with S5 Pro. The rest can be found here....http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=557717. As for the Nikkor 70-200, I am gunning for the new version.

wah bro...
you've been the master of your equipment ley!!

can you teach me more...pls?

Actually there's really nothing much to it. The tamron 17 - 50 is a very good lens for its price. The night one all i did was put it onto a tripod. Set to timer because i didn't have a shutter release cable. 30 seconds F9 - F11 if i'm not wrong. And there you have it :) Not sure which film simulation mode i was using. But i'm guessing its F1b. The day shot i just set to aperature piority, shot across the road while waiting for the bus. I guess what's most important is time of the day. Not everything is because of the camera. Weather plays a big part as well.

Here's another shot

i'm having the T17-50 too. been using it for my freelancing jobs. but it seems to have focus hunting at night (i may be wrong though).

i'm using the older version, without the motor...

Mine's the one with the motor. I was told your version is better. But this was the only one i came across 2nd hand. So yea... Try attaching a flash. You could make use of the "red beam" from it to help with the focus. Like for my SB800 i know there's a function where i can turn off the flash from firing but keep the "red beam" firing. Sad part is that it doesn't work with my 58mm F1.4 manual lens. I have real trouble focusing on that at night. Another thing i usually do is focus on like an object that "stands out" like a sharp corner or something. Flat surface never works for me....

just wondering if any of you using nikon 55-200 lens. i'm thinking of getting this affordable lens for now...

Yeah me. Very sharp lens. Even at 200mm wide open. The VR plays an important part too. Easy to bring along too, as it is small and light.

i beg to differ. i my 55-200 vr which i own previously was one of the worst. i suggest a 70-300 vr or a 80-200 f2.8 instead =)

I've been enjoying the S5pro ever since I got it.. Only thing is still confuse with the settings and learning through experimenting alot.. Do you guys shoot mostly in the film saturation modes or the standard modes with tweak settings..
I read in some reviews that the noise level for this cam is good at high ISOs, tried shooting at 1250 color-High tone-high shapness-high DR at 400% terrible results.. At Film sat 1c I had it at color- high tone-medium sharp- high it turned out ok.. Trying different settings to find the sweet spot..
What do you guys normally set your cameras at?? Its gota be somthing I did wrong, would love to learn from you guys in here.. ;)
