why not? Fujifilm singapore has always price their DSLR competitively compared to US. I remember when I bought the s3pro, it was cheaper in Singapore than US.

Anyway I don't the the price will be much higher than 2.5k.

Where is S5 Pro made in ? Japan or Thailand ? I dont want to get into the debate on QC issues on weather made in Thailand Q.C. is as good as Japan...

see, the price locally is $2.6k :) so it is pretty competitive to overseas.

And best thing is fuji singapore actually have substantial DISCOUNTS when time passes.

Thats call Hire Purchase right? Means you cant sell the device for the next 3 years. And if you do so, the creditors have the right to repossess the camera?

Thought I read some clause about this some time ago...

Who wants to sell the camera when you can use it for the next 3-5 years ...............

Never underestimate the people here. Some buy and sell within one or two days. A person I know bought a brand-new Pentax K10D and sold it within 2 days.

By right, you can't sell but normally, they are not going to bother you as long as you pay the instalment. Afterall, it is the money that they are after, not the camera.

S5 PRO is Made in Japan.

But the parts may be supplied from Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Nigeria and anywhere else. The D200 body is probably assembled by Nikon in Thailand, and Fuji puts on the sensor and circuit board in Japan. So the final step is Japan after all... just my guess.

In term of finishing, if you compare both the S5 Pro and D200 together (which I had during the time I bought my S5 Pro), the S5 pro is more refine and the 'feel' of material is better.

No offense to Nikon low-mid range D-series users, but I find those Made in Thailand D70/D70s, D50, D40, D80 and D200 lack refinement compared to those Japanese-made D100 and the high-end D1(x/h) and D2 (x/h).

how is the S5 high ISO(above 1000 till 1600) noise level compare to the canon 5D?

I have no means of comparing the two in terms of the noise level, but PC World Mag UK, in its review, has this to say about S5 Pro in that respect, "Internal noise reduction takes two passes and does a game job of moderating noise in captures of up to ISO 3200 equivalent, while shots at more regular ISO sensitivities are reasonably well detailed, although slightly soft on close examination, and have excellent dynamic range." It seems to me then that there's no need comparing S5 Pro to Canon 5D based on this statement since it clearly surpass the numbers being indicated. Just my humble opinion.

If you want to have a thorough understanding about Fuji S5 Pro, I suggest that you pay this site, http://www.smartratings.com/review/photography/digital_cameras/1028 , a visit where expert and user reviews for the product are compiled and aggregated. Hope this helps.
