actually, i'm lost at how to classify a body as a pro-body?

1 more added advantage of S3.. not that we need it often..
live lcd preview :D (had it's limitations though)

anyway the S3 pro is a modified nikon body. Forgot from which film model.

F5 la.....

the sensor of s3pro gives better dynamic range ..... so at the end of the day...it depends on wat kind of a shooter u are... if u are into weddings and portraits, u prob dun need like 8fps anyway...so perhaps better colours would serve u better.....

for me....s3 is the way to go hahahaa....

Old meh? How different is the S3 from D100? I don't see much difference apart from built in grip + Fuji sensor vs Sony CCD.

Fuji is onli selling their CCD, not the advanced algorithmn we see in D2h and Deetooaxe... so well..comparing the S3 to D100 which i believe has better algorithmns, well... 2.5fps, means its still in the very amatuer - pro amatuer series camera...

pinoy is rite, this camera is more rather suited for controlled environment like studio setups.... but with a 2.5fps, u are very limited to what types of studio photography u can take....

I would say what other potential that the D2H has other than its 8FPS that can challenge the S3 Pro?

Do not rate too too highly Nikon when Fujifilm has a longer history in capturing images.

Brand loyalty? i think not...

IMHO, im not sure if there is even a comparison for the S3 and D2H, D2H is built for sports and action protography in mind. very hard to beat that except for D2X's cropped feature. S3 on the other hand works well on landscape and controlled environment (e.g. studio).

Actually D2H also can take great landscape photos... and perform well in studio environment.

The S3pro is most suited for studio work. what do you think it was for? to bring to frontline of a war?
D2h, you bring to perch on the edge of a wimbledon match/French Open. your editor receives your pics secs later at the office for publication on net.
Then the photographer whipped out his S3pro to shoot several shots of the prize presentation ceremony to sell for several thousands bucks to sports magazines such as Tennis. and return to D2h for a brief interview shots of Federrer/Agassi, which is again uploaded in secs to HQ, hundreds of KM away!
The beige lens barrel guy at the other corner found that the SWM brokedown again.. and asked the S3pro guy to spare some of his pics, which the S3pro guy, being nice and friendly obliges. Subsequently the guy with his broken down lens claims the image as his.
(disclaimer: if real situations mimics the above, it is purely coincidental.)

DR is one factor to consider. 3.6K for a sensor? No way. I can get a D2H that can do more. Maybe the DR loses out, but it's not that much either. I can tweak curves to match the colours of the Fujis anyway.

To me, I'm just paying 3.6K for a sensor. Whereas for D2H, I'm paying 3.6K for a lot more.

i have no idea how S3/D2 comparison end up in wimbledon. Your street magic too powerful for me blaine.

AHHAHAHA...

You know, years back, i had the same experience happen to me, my colleague's 1N broke down, ie: he couldn't get his film to rewind and only had 1 body... for a press coverage. so, lend him my F4 and an old 70-300 ....

He then bought the setup from me after this assignment. :sticktong

but that was almost like 20 yrs ago? hehehe

There's SO much the D2H will win vs S3 Pro.

- i-TTL flash system vs TTL
- CLS vs no CLS
- Cam2000AF vs Cam900AF
- 3D MM II vs erm... not sure
- WT-1/WT-2 vs no WT
- Battery life
- 8 fps vs 3fps

These are just documented known specs...

Beige Lens barrel??!!! :what:

Sounds strangely familiar.....

I have used S2 Pro before and using D2H now for portraiture, wedding and events shoot. Play with S3 Pro before, before deciding to stick to D2h.

Although I like Fuji colors, the small viewer make it very uncomfortable to see sometimes.

Maybe I quite used to Nikon F5&4 which the viewer is 100% same goes for D2h.

But in terms of handling D2h is more comfortable while shooting vertical.

No regrets getting the D2h. Always give me satisfactory end result.

nope actually its the f80.
get ur facts right.

F80 and F5 looks very alike, and in terms of bulit, with the grip, the S3 to me looks more like the F5 while the S1 and S2 is more like the F80... well... they all look the same....

ERM... the F5 looks alike with F80? Think not.

The S3 compared with F5 is like maybe same. But try throwing it at somebody, I doubt the S3 will survive.

i think i saw an f80 which has a grip ? battery grip and vertical shutter?? well.. looks like a far la !.... the bulb la... f5 has no bulb while the f80 has it...

erm.. whether f80 looks like f5 ornot, not impt..

but....

whats more impt is what the camera can achieve, i think S3.. is realli onli a high MP dslr.. nthing more to give accept for more details and good faithful colour reproductions. other den that.. all lose to D2h and even the D2hs...

F80's battery grip is nothing more than a battery holder for 4AA batteries. It doesn't come with vertical shutter and/or command dials :)

LF and MF people uses only:

- TTL or manual flash
- No CLS
- Manual focus
- No 3D MM II
- Manual advance of film and shutter cocking
- No battery
- 1 Frame Per FEW seconds

In the end, they still took great pictures.
