Just sent in mine to Fuji Sg replace the dead CCD and yes, it cost $1638. Unfortunately the set was purchased in Malaysia which didn't give any reply to my appeals and question to why it failed. Lesson learnt is never to buy any set sold in any country except Singapore unless they have international warranty (which may or may not help).

I have dealt with both Fuji Singapore and Nikon Singapore and should say they are very accomodating and goes to a large extent to help (as some has experienced in this forum). This has assured me to continue buying either their products that originates from Singapore offices.

So.. They repair for you??

I thinki heard one of my (not so close) friend said he send it to a neighbourhood store for replacement, cost less than S$500.00 you want me to check it out??

Gosh David .. should have posted it earlier .. saves alot of people alot of money!

Anyway thanks very much for the offer. I cant withdraw as it is already in the replacement process when I check earlier this afternoon. Guess this is one efficiency I could afford to miss!

Thanks once again .. good to know there are helps around.

Was informed of this amount and therefore assumed so.

wanted to send in todae.... but was bz with work... most likely by wed i should be doing it..

For me, Fuji made it clear that it was a goodwill sensor replacement, considered on a case-by-case basis. I am certainly thankful for their goodwill.

In any case, they do have a reputation to protect, and supposingly a stock of S2pro sensors to clear considering the entry of the S3pro.

I am wondering whether those S2 that had its CCD replaced... will its happen again with CCD dead?

Time to buy a new one! You are more than lucky that a DSLR will last you for 5 years!

I am also eyeing on S3 Pro. Duno if its reliability is better than S2. Cathay is offering 3.5k with credit card installment.

Hi Kerpalz,

Do not worry, send in your S2 pro for repair.
I send in S2 pro last Monday and the technician called me the following evening. I went down and got it back on Wednesday. Just 3 days for replacing the CCD. No charge and my camera is more than 18 months old.

Thank you Fuji Singapore

But after the warrenty period, the CCD would be very expensive to replace, isn't it?

Actually, Fuji has no choice but to change most of everything, the sensor is shipped stucked to the PCB and other electronics! :)

I suppose that they had done some cleaning and some focus alignment, etc...
