S5IS does not have a UW housing though, unless you get an Ikelite. Not to sure which other companies carry housings. You will also need to custom white balance all your shots, since there is not UW white balance mode.

Thanks I am already reading on the Ikelite webpage info - A650IS housing has some vignetting problem for WA lens (not sure about macro - checking with the shop on this) while S5IS housing accepts external 67mm lens readily. & Yes the A650IS has U/W WB while the S5IS needs to do it on manual with a slate. My thinking is that I shouldnt go wrong with either A650IS or S5IS, have been using Canon a long while.
The S5IS might be a better buy, depending on the strobes you are using.

Just collected my Lensmate online-ordered products from Singapore Post, but no time to fix them onto the camera - Comes in a nice carton box with foam nuggets and all items either wrapped in plastic or its own box. Very neat! The whole package cost around S$64 (including shipment)...and I thought it's a good deal, considering the good reviews from international users @ dpreview.

Just checking with our S3/S5 clubsnappers here if anyone has issues with dust/ smudges on the filter, and them showing up on the pictures taken. This question is directed to those with S3/S5 mounted adaptor and filter.
At dpreview, one guy came back to me with his story on how difficult it was to use his S5 with the filter always on, as he always had to keep it very clean, or suffer the consequence of having dust spots appearing in his pictures.
Anybody has any comments?

Lensmate makes good stuff, I have their 58mm adapter. My UV filter is always covered in dust at the end of the day. Will blow it off and clean it with lens cleaning paper. Never really had problems with it. No visible dust spots so far.
Just exchanged my Hoya SHMC UV Filter for a Pro1D Clear Filter at MSC, due to loose glass insert (manufacturing fault) and no stock for replacement. I took a few shots yesterday, with and without filter and out there in the sun and I cannot see any difference. PFs are still there and the UV filter did not reduce them as mentioned by others.
I may add a CP to my collection, but I have to see how it goes. It's bag hunting for me now to take the bigger S5 (with the adapter).
Has anybody any recommendations on bags to fit all of the above? I'm looking at LowePro Rezo 110AW or the Apex 110AW which fits the S5 downwards or sideways, into the bag. Do you know where the biggest range of LowePro bags can be found on sale?

Someone got it as a present for me, so not to sure about the price. I have run around Bali and Sydney with this set up. I normally have it across my chest, with the shoulder strap running diagonally across my back. The bag is in front, and I can change all the lenses without needing to put anything down. It also has a waist strap, that I normally do not use.
With the above arsenal, which shows your great interest in photography, shouldn't you be getting a DSLR and turning pro? Though I can see that you don't have an external flash..
I like photography, but it's mainly for my son (and family), whom I love to take pics of (as he's growing up) and videos, for remembrance. Once in a while, I do take pics of buildings, nature and landscapes (esp. during my holiday trips) but other than that, mainly to capture events happening around me.
IMO, photos of your loved ones are the most important as people keep changing (they get older). It doesn't matter to me if they are not professional material, as long as they are presentable (not blurry or out of composition).
I'd love to go pro, but priority, time and commitment is something that I cannot afford to spend.

Only the S5IS has a hot shoe. I have yet to find a slave flash that gives me a control over its output. Vivitar used to have one, they stopped making it. I have been thinking of getting a dSLR for a while. Came quite close to purchasing a 5D. I need about SGP$15k in total, to get all the equipment I want though.
So will wait quite a while before I get a dSLR.Also, I shoot for fun. I take a lot of photos, but do not post many of them online. Have only entered one official photo competition, managed to get into the finals.
Yeah, taking photos of family & friends is fun. Especially candid moments.
