did you ever noticed the S5 has a barrel distorsion?? esp when you shoot something vertical or horizontal...:(

I am using the S2IS, never really had problems with it. Then again, I do not shoot straight lines often.

#2 has potential, with the reflections. Did you try a few different angles?

Try to leave a bit of space in between photos posted, makes it look better.

tried a few angles.. couldn get it right... so gave up... :bsmilie:

Talking about 'mooning', try not to take pictures of the full moon. They will appear flat. If you look at littlejt's pictures, you can see the shadows in the craters. This gives the moon some shape. The gradient produced near the line of the terminator also makes the moon look more round. Contrast of pictures is higher near the terminator.

nice aged sepia effect for the 2nd one.. that place looks strangely familiar.. where is it?

actually for full moons i tend to shoot at a few stops slower cos full moon is always brighter.. as you can see in my pic but yea it does appear flatter so i had to increase the blacks on the picture.
sorry to post that pic up. cos it is shot by my nikond80. just posting for illustration

Thanks :) It was taken out of my living room window at Hougang Ave 7, the field in front of Blk 341 :p

ah.. i see.. it is near the HUDCs is it? cos it looks strangely familar

Hmm, I think so...opp Rio Vista area..

orhhh no wonder passed by that place many time to view the condos there

how do u guys get the bokeh? wat settings? using manual focus? noob using s5is as well :dunno:

Think the word you are looking for is thin depth of field (DOF).

Switch the macro mode on. DOF will be really thin.

I like the mood of the shot and the frame. Elmo is a bit distracting though.

Guessing you did not use flash and hand held it? You may want to place the camera on something and then angle it so that you can frame the bear. Then use the two second timer to take the shot. Shot will be sharper, as they will not be any blur due to hand shake.

Thanks for the comments. :) Yupz, u r rite in saying I didn't use a flash. Reason being I saw a nice angle, thot it was a gd idea, and then juz snapped happily away. Should have removed Elmo on afterthot. Thanx..will attempt to improve for future shots!
