It varies, but most of them:

0.067 sec (1/15)
Aperture: f/3.5
ISO:200

Wow with that shutter speed and without tripod, you really can hold the cam well.

for animal shots, try to take at eye-level.. esp. for pets. oso, try not to crop off part of e head or e ears..
for e #1, do i see red-eye in e dog's right eye?
and for #2, i find e lines on e floor distracting..

Thank for your advise. Saw the animal pic you took, and i love it.

May i know for those pic u took, wat mode u using ??

Any advise if i wan to take pic when my dog is in action??

it juz gif me a fyl of 'slant-ness'.. perhaps it's coz i ainT into architectual shots.

Wa, you sure are share to see and consider the basket.....thanks for your comment.;)

i find it quite ok to crop e name as it's reflected on e board.. if nt, e baskets and all (right 1/4 of e height of e signboard) will become too distracting.

1/15 is the fastest I cant get with the max "under" I am willing to compromise......by the way, since I got S3, I get a lot of blur pic (at 12X, handheld) and I always think my hand is not stable......at 6X I am definitely ok due to my training with my Finepix 6x for a few years.:)

Thanks for your compliment.:embrass:

I have a question on Av/Tv mode.

I realised with the same ISO, when I use Av mode, the shutterspeed selected by the cam is always slower. When I choose Tv mode and set to the same shutterspeed, then the aperture selected seems to be faster....they are not really the same in terms of exposure calculation......any comment on this?

And when in low light, no matter how I adjust in Tv (result in too slow shutter and blur pic due to handshake), S3 will tell me under even at F2.7. But when I switch to Auto, I can shoot with acceptable pic with reasonably sharp and well exposed pic......anyone has the same experience?:dunno:

thanks.

Add to this. Try not to use direct flash especially for cats.

I personally prefers the landscape coloured, I like the blue and the colourful pegs......Which one works best for you? Or all 3 not good?

Landscape coloured works for me. How about trying to make the vertical lines of the tiles equidistance from the sides? Also, you might want to shoot with Colour pick, on the blue. Then the wall and one clothes peg will be in colour, rest all in B&W. The left side of the bucket is a wee bit blown.

Yah, I tried to lower the exposure for the left side of the bucket.....but then the right side become too under and totally cannot see the right edge of the bucket.

If you were me, will you choose a blown left or a under right? Just to find out, nothing offensive......:)

About single colour, I tried too, but I think I still like the colourful pegs.....may be can shoot again, may be at a later timing so that the left won't be too blown.

I would prefer a bit under to blown. At least with under, you can still get a bit of image out, if you use shadow/highleight from photoshop.

If they are not moving too much. dont use flash at all. =)
Open up your aperture using Av mode instead of Tv. A bit of blur around the fur makes this beautiful dog looks softer and nicer. =)

The above was taken at a very dimly lit orangy lighted cafe. Without flash.

But then the nit about above pics is alot though the colors are preserved.
#1 the chair's arm rest.
#2 the owner's red shirt
#3 Blur nose. (due to big aperture) to prevent this for long muzzle dog, shoot slightly sideways instead of too direct. Still practicing though.

Anyway, this wasnt shot with S2 nor S3. Just thought to share. huh Cerebrus.haha

Yah, I think S2/3 is very difficult to control the DOF......

Zoom to Tele. Go near. Put largest Aperture. I think still can. S2/S3 are capable cameras..;p But I dont have one. So dont take my word for it. TRY IT! :D
