biggulp said:1) It is average for a prosumer camera. That means considerable amounts of noise. Use it only when you really need to. Should be an improvement over Panasonic's noisy cameras though.
2) This is not a camera issue but rather a matter of stability and shuttle speed. At any rate, shuttle speeds will be too low indoors for you to handhold the camera at 12x zoom. Both cameras however have image stabilizing functions, which would assist in getting useable indoor shots more easily.
3) There are many models of slave flashes to choose from. Of course you miss in-camera metering and power adjustment and zoom etc.
From what I have read, its supposed to be around f4 for the S2/S3 lens.lastboltnut said:I like colour of this pic. However, I think the it will be good if the pic is sharper...It is always easy to comment then to do it....I also have prob getting sharp pic...
I see that you pic is f2.7...I read somewhere that to get sharper image, try not to use the highest and lowest 2 f/stops of the cam...and I also heard that S3's best f/stop is from 4.5-5.6...has anyone try? Can post the diff?
Thanks.

Wordlife said:Hmm it appears that the S2/3 pics are indeed 'soft'... like no focus like that... any peeps out here can justify against this claim by getting sharp pics? If can, was is the f number? Thx

Thanks.
Settings used in the nite scene pic:
Shutter speed: 15 sec
Aperture: 4
ISO: 200
Mode: Tv
Regarding the lights, the streetlamps were white and the housing lamps were warm orangy yellow in general. I did not adjust the WB so I think the cam adjusted to make the housing lamps whiter resulting in the green tinge on the streetlamps. But I liked the colours that resulted from that so I just left it as that.
