I shoot cats, if I get 85mm F/1.4 on FF and shoot wide open the cat will not have much of a face left. :bsmilie:

my 12MP D700 is also a 6MP D40 at the same time....
cut a few pieces up down left right my ff becomes a apc camera with a lower resolution if i want to... apc wants to becomes ff needs a bit more work...

If Pentax can put bigger 1/1.7 sensor in a Q body, I bet next they will put a 36x24 sensor in K5 body!

Probably K1 for FF ( a suspicious prototype was last seen at Pentax outing) , and they trying to squeeze a 36x24 sensor n everything else into current K5 body, that's why take so long time!

Looks like its set for at least 3 models (entry/ mid/ high).
I'm interested in what is the upcoming high end model.
Most likely 24mp aps-c though.
FF? Its a bonus if its announced this year, but I won't put any bet on it.
Q7 is certainly a nice step up.
Balance between sensor performance and big crop factor (abt 4.5)
The 01 becomes like a 35mm and toy fisheye gets a bit wider.
In theory, the K500 offers much more than entry cams of competing brands (esp for real features to help in photography).
But many layman buyers buy based on brand, so I don't know how it will pan out.
Hopefully it will do well.

Like I said that time .... It's "Suicide" if Pentax do a FF and Complete with Nikon, Canon, Sony and etc.
If they offer an upgraded K5 with even better DR and detail, with improved AF, I'll get it.

Yes, 10mm f4 pancake or smallish lens would be wonderful.
