another way you want is to capture them while doing rehersals...

they are doing some serious rehersals everyday between 1030hrs to 1500hrs.

but u need to CAMP there if you really want to get a good shoot...

can't reveal too much... but they WILL fly pass tampines wafer fabrication park (somewhere there) during their rehersal and will land near the wafer fab. park

Just curious, I used to work in the tampines wafer fab park area. Never really noticed any clear landing sites unless u refering to seletar airbase area near jalan kayu..?

sibeh sad, tio arrowed for static display

there goes my sunday

Actually 70-200mm will do the job.. check this out

IMO, other countries, the flying are always quite low.
Singapore like always fly very high one...like the AA2006..I need to use 500mm..
But if this weekend they fly low, then my 80-200mm will do the job or just
snap on a TC..

that's flying darn close, i took a 70-200 for asian aerospace, not good enuff. Getting a 100-400 this time round to be safe. For comparision, please see http://manman.homedns.org:2625/geeklog2/main/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=album93 for my 70-200mm shots. too far!

IMO, something like 400mm would be something more reasonable. Or, you will have to crop hell of a lot. I will bring a 100-300F4 and see if I can get a 1.4xTC to go with it. I guess that should be good enough.

either a 100-300/100-400/70-200+tc should be "safe" enough for security matters. :)

Sianz ... Think I can't go for the event liaos :(.

For info, Fiona Xie will be there on Sunday at 2.30pm for a performance. ;)

Maybe u are right, local pilot dun dare to fly so close.. they cant take the risk or maybe they dun have the skill.. :bsmilie:

I saw the aircrafts on the link.

I'm using canon S3 IS. Will i be able to shoot so up close also ?

:dunno:

As wat they said, depend on the aircrafts fly over distance. (12x optical zoom) 36 - 432mm equiv.. should be no problem if fly close to you.. happy shooting ;)

wah...so the usual gang will be there.

The shots in US were very very up close. In singapore the aircrafts for safety reasons would be flying at a long distance and 70-200 would not make it. You need at least a 100-400 range. Those who shot aerospace 2006 will know what i mean.

Any good and not too expensive 80-400mm or similar lens to recommend??

Alamak:o , so many activities this weekend, how to split myself up.
Everything I also feel like shooting, camera battery can recharge, but not my energy:sweat:
