Who else here owns and uses his/her rollei 35?
perhaps we can form a group and do meet ups?

love to hear from the rest the pros and cons of this camera and difficulties they face when shooting.

i love the little weight it gives me, not like plasticky kinda feeling.
exposure meter is really cute even thou i always cover it not knowingly.
i do how ever have trouble with focusing. my 'agaration' of distance is not good.

also which film do u love to use for bnw?

hope to hear from you all soon!

hi...i love the Rollei 35S.. i too had problems focusing.

I did use a blik rangerfinder to estimate the distance. You can find one here: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_from=R...kw=blik+rangefinder&_sacat=See-All-Categories

I bought 2 before I found one which was accurate, best to ask the seller to test first.

Also, the Blik fits into the bottom shoe of the Rollei very well.

cheers!

(i wrote in past tense, as I sold off my 2 Rollei(s) )

you use it by focusing like a Rangefinder Camera (alignment of 2 images into 1). then you read the distance indicated after alignment and transfer that distance to your rollei.
that's it. R A N G E F I N D E R :)

hmm all range finders are like that.? interesting

uncoupled rangefinders are like that, eg. Agfa Isolette. But most Rangefinders are coupled, you adjust the images and the distance move at the same time.

good luck on your rollei 35s.

btw the s = Sonnar. Fantastic Portrait lens. The t stands for Tessar. very sharp lens.

oh mine does not have any S in it. its just a Rollei 35.

I just got a Rollei 35S and I had fun shooting with it today. I'm pretty amazed at its petite size and I found myself stealthily snapping away from the waist, although quick adjustments to the shutter speed, aperture and focus distance took some practice. Unfortunately my excursion with it ended in disaster when I forgot to flip the rewind lever when winding back the film, resulting in me snapping the film and wasting the whole roll. A big lesson learnt I guess...
