Just bought 2 lens from challenger but unfortunately they do not carry the UV filter so walk around and found Bally photo at 5th level. Bought 67mm and 82mm Hoya HD UV filter for $460.00 knowing that I have probably bought it at high price but did not realize that it is a total rip off until coming back home and google. So..beware of this shop:angry:

...yapp..take things for granted. Since it is just a UV filter. I really did not take any precaution at all. And funan center is where I expect to pay normal retail price. Ended up paying more than tourist price:angry:....

These are the ones we heard from CS. Imagine the ones that we didn't heard? No wonder the owner of this shop can open up so many different shops in so many different names.

You should have gone to J3:16, they charge high filter price ;p but at least they will give you great service.
Well, take it as a lesson (although quite an expensive one I must say). Need to look at the bright side, at least this kind of thing won't happen to you ever again. Have a great 2011...
considering that you bought your lens frm challenger, i suppose u also paid the RRP and much more than the street price. double whammy. ouch.

If Bally quotes a price for an item, and TS is willing to pay the price, then why is it called chopping carrot ? TS is willing to pay at that price.
So let's say TS takes Ballys up to court. I would say chances are 5% winning. The opposition lawyer will definitely say, "my client quote TS a price, (without using any violence or forcing him to buy). TS agrees and pay the price, thus finding it unfair for my client."
TS, take it a lesson learnt. Do your homework before buying.

I'm shocked that the shop actually had the nerve to quote a price of $460 for 2 UV filters! :bigeyes:
But agreed, there are quite a few dubious camera shops around. Personally I like to get a quote from CP then use it as a benchmark to select which shop to buy my gear from. In that way, there is a lower chance of getting chopped.
