This stupid board don't let me post any links ...whats the point of photography board that does not allow its registered members to post photos ?

you need to have a certain number of postings made before you're allowed to post pics if i recall correctly... so go around the forum, visit some of the street / travel galleries and comment on their excellent work. you'll be good to go in no time! :)

These are the ok ones. Yes, the colors are out of the cam, no PP (except the BW one). That's what I like about this cam.

Good tips. I have set it up as suggested. Thank.

Anyone know how to register the names on the lenses in the cam for recording to EXIF? Couldn't find it in the manual.

Am also keen to know how...any kind soul?

In the camera menu "key custom settings", goto Edit my settings, and choose say My1, it has all typical settings you can changed, and scroll down to page 4 "Lens Name" and you can input Name, focal length, aperture. So up to 3 lens from here. There's suppose to be up to 6. Still figuring out. But it seems to have bug for Raw files not having the name, the focal length & aperture is intact, of course, if you stop down, it will still show the aperture you set, coz no electronic contacts. Jpeg is ok though, name, FL, aperture all show. There are My1, My2, My3 settings on the mode switch, just remember to switch to the right one...:)

Thanks Wong. Will try out tomorrow. I thought I read that firmware 1.44 fixes the bug where lens name not store in the raw file, only the jpg file (something like that). Will check.

Hi, tested already, mine is 1.44.

I had been trying out some of the jpeg colors and Raw as most of what I take are portraits, just some of my personal opinions. Here's some findings:
- Raw colors are nicer (warmer) than Jpeg for standard mode.

#1 Here's one from OOC jpg with standard mode

OOC Jpeg Output, no pp by wonglpnn, on Flickr

#2 And here's one I personally prefer, raw output

GXR+voigtlander 50/1.5, lovely skintones. Raw output by wonglpnn, on Flickr

# 3 Next, I tried Vivid setting. Personally, too punchy

Vivid color, too punchy, ooc jpg by wonglpnn, on Flickr

#4 Vivid, same as #3 except PP to desaturate. This works better for me.

# 5 I also tried to set my own "Setting 1, Vivid +6, Contrast +6", skintone is ok, lips become pinkish though

Setting 1 (Vivid +1), pinkish lips?! by wonglpnn, on Flickr

Which do you prefer? Btw, in case u dun already know, I am poor at PP. So pardon me...

Would like to seek advice on what's setting you commonly use for yourself. Still trying to find what best without much PP.. Thanks for viewing

Hi Wong, thanks for the tips on the storing of lens name. It works. The setting of 6 profiles in My Setting Box is the same as what you have done in MY1/2/3. After setup the 6 in Setting Box, just recalls into MY 1/2/3. It took me a while to figure out how to activate the setting, didn't realize there are MY1/2/3 on Mode dial at top of cam. Kept searching the menu :embrass: On FW 1.44, the lens info does store in the DNG files, at least for my case.

Nice portrait photos of your kids. Yes, #2 is nice. I don't really do portrait shoot (may be because my wife and girl don't like to be taken :) ) So can't comment much. Like the rendering of this lens. May try it one day.

Tks.

Continue practicing today. Feel better with the focusing. The preset of lens names is good, but need quite a bit of efforts to remember to set it with each lens change. Forgot to set a few times :( Three settings MY1/2/3 is not enough leh.

Thanks for the info and comments. This lens is very sharp wide open and with no AA filter, details can be very good if the focus is spot on...still training to get focus accurate. Agree that one needs to be mindful to change the setting on the mode dial to match the lens...i missed that a few times already:bsmilie:

Any word on making the Pentax forum "Ricoh/Pentax"? I mean, nostalgia aside, Pentax's own website already states that Pentax is a "Ricoh company".

Though, if we are going to do that, why not rename the BnS subforum for Olympus to Olympus/Panasonic? It's silly that Panasonic is still listed as under "others".

I feel for longer lenses, its better to use focus assist #2, and start with infinity focus.

Looks like the supply of the A12 mount is also affected by the flood...

Technically, the potential is endless...

I am really surprised to see so many selling their Ricoh so soon after the release of the M-Mount.

The output JPEG is so good, I don't even need to pp much at all.

Let keep the GXR Thread going ...

GXR + A12 M Mount + VC 12 + 0.9 GND

iso-lo, f11, 60s, vivid jpeg settings.

Very nice and clean shot!

Didn't actually see many selling leh..

Does the pic have any magenta cast on your vc12? I have vc15ltm which is doesn't have it so far. the 15 doesn't allow filters on it, thinking of changing..

Is yours a LTM version? I am assuming so ... i think you can add a bit of felt on the adapter the 12mm or on the 15mm and it'll tighten on the lens. But of course, not very nice. Even if you get the M mount ones, you'll not be able to put a square filter due to the hood. So I think the 12mm LTM is perhaps the most versatile one for now.

I can confirm, no color casting with voigtlander 12mm.
