The answer is A&A... problem is GRD is an old model so you're gonna have trouble finding it...
(and it'll definitely not come cheap!!! Not sure if I told you but I was hunting the world over for a discontinued in 2006 A&A case for the Epson RD1... got it but at a bl:bigeyes:dy premium!!!)

Ok, check this out... though pricey the A&A, the renowned top notch quality is surely worth the effort!

yea, wonder when will it reach Singapore. But observing GXR, the price will come down slightly after few months? If so i would most likely wait.

I even got a lens in dry box waiting now ;)

End of Sep. Pre-order already started...

V well taken pics there bro...v sharp too!

Took my car for servicing Sat morning, hanging around the workshop and suddenly saw this scene, discretely took out my GXR A12 50mm, and snap a few shoots. The camera is small, quiet and looks unassuming...people hardly notice me. Even those who did..they didn't take me seriously :)

This was taken 2 weeks ago when i was in Malaysia. It was a sad moment, a wooden house beside the sea has collapse into the water and the family was trying to get their belonging out from what was left of it... from the water.
I noticed this by-passer stop besides me looking. I had the VF-2 at waist level, pointed the camera at him, picked the focus and exposure spot, changed to B&W color setting, under exposed by 1/3 stop and took several photo of him. He was not aware throughout the shooting (which lasted several few seconds). What amazed me was how stealthy GXR can be with VF-2 on waist level. I shoot quite a lot of photo that day, all with VF-2 at waist level and looking down at the camera, and i hardly got noticed. But after the shoot i felt guilty... i don't like stealing shoot in a tragedy moment like this, it felt like an exploitation. So i decided not to post the rest of the photo. Just this one to illustrate how useful VF-2 can be in street photography.

it has been raining all day... good time for some water droplet photo! This angle would not have been possible without getting wet except with VF-2

sometimes i wonder is there anyone visiting this thread... or i am just posting for myself...

anybody there???

i often ask myself, how good is GXR A12 lens... i have read it is plenty good, but the result i got was somehow...inconsistent...until i took this picture. It suddenly dawn on me that the problem is not with the lens...dah!!!(please don't laugh...:embrass:) but me.

When focus properly and exposed correctly, you will start to see it sparkle! The following picture was taken with A12 50mm, it is a very random shoot by photography standard, but it does illustrate very well what this lens is capable of when the photographer stop screwing up :bsmilie:

at 70% crop... it won't fit the whole head if I crop at 100%

young, you're not alone! appreciate the photos you've posted. decided to swing by here since i was curious about how the GXR and M mount module will turn out. that macro sensor is sweet though! is it really as slow as people say it is?

hi there! good to hear some new "voice"!

The focusing speed is relative, it all depends on lighting condition, in good light, u hardly feel the lag, but in not so ideal light it will start to show. To be fair, i often have to work very hard when capturing children with this cam....

But the flip side is (may be i am guilty of being overly positive;p) it makes the user a better photographer, more aware of the lighting, develop habits of preempting a scene, ability to improvise with tools given by Ricoh (plenty of them through firmware upgrade!!!) to work around any challenges.

In short, it prevent premature photography dementia if you used this camera often and use it the way it was meant to be use...

Hi Young,

I really am a fan of your photos and what you have done with the Ricoh. I am a proud owner of both A12 modules and a VF2 as well. Your waist shots has shown what can be done with street photography. Yes I agree, the shots need careful planning to get it to the point that you are 100% satisfied with it. When it is done right, I think it can rival some competitors that cost 3 to 5 times the cameras price.

I will use it to capture every waking moment when she is still young. When she starts running about, then I will use my DSLR. By for the time being, I love the colour reproduction of this camera. Keep up the great work. I do visit this thread very often. Can't wait for the M module as well. I got a great 50mm which I plan to use for portrait shots as well.

Cheers :)

Ricoh GXR is the best! comparable to SLR and the pictures posted are great! I heard the M Mount can be hands-on tested at Audio & Photo Head Office. Ricoh reported that thier M mount sensor is the same as fuji X100's. Just give them a ring and make an appointment. they are on pre-order in most main dealers

Hello folks,

I recently got my GXR and I am looking for a camera strap similar to the wide-cloth strap made by artisan and artists for lug mount cameras.

Any recommendations?

Cheers,

I'm using the made-for-compact version of the A&A silk cord... certainly very highly regarded, if not the best there is! :)

U want nice starps look for Chii Fei at Chiif Cameras. he's got a lot
