Ricoh GXR!

For a lens that heavy, I am surprised bro you got it. It doesn't balance well on the GXR don't you think so? But guess what, my m135 doesn't too!! Teles are really a joy to focus on the GXR. I would have had a hard time on rangefinders.

I wanted an extra half stop to work with. If I wanted light, the CV 75/2.5 is smaller and fast enough. The flip side is that it is because it is long, and heavy, I just balance the setup via the lens.

But yes! Rangefinders aren't too good with telephotos, what with the razor thin DOF and the rangefinder base length isn't long enough to allow for the precision required. I am tempted to get a Leica 135mm though. Does it work well with the goggles on?

can't advise. Never use any Leica lenses!!! I will be looking for a cheap 90 though. Hopefully I can find 1.

anyone ever bring your GXR to environmental unfriendly places ? (dessert, snow) ? how it behaves ?

ya, soft lens can be really nice for portraits...sometimes too sharp is not a virtue. i have a soft spot for OM 50/1.4 for that characteristic and the bokeh.

A12 28mm, very multifunction lens

Very nice .. iamnubie. Colors are great.

This is my contributions for 1st May.
"Urbanized"

GXR + A12 M + VT 12, Cropped 16:9

1 thing about the Ricoh GXR A12 is I hardly had to sharpen any of the images it produces.

"Central"

GXR + A12 M + VT 12, Badly stitched

I really had a hard time cloning out the plants, and decided to leave this distraction there in the picture. So many problems with the stitch. :faint:

Am excited about it too. Am thinking of getting the combo of GXR and Carl Zeiss 50mm 1.5 (Sonnar). Look at this pic from flickr. A killer combo. Beautiful bokeh. Click on the link if pic is not showing.

Thanks for the compliment, LP. Hey, you can download the action script - it's Urban Acid. But of course, I did some adjustments. Didn't like it too overly dramatic.

If I haven't got the canon, I would have gone for this. Your VT 50 1.5 is already good. Don't need CZ. ;-)

Not quite real snow but I shot the GXR amongst the christmas bubbles locally last year.... needless to say, a tough time cleaning up the sticky bits! :nono:
