Isn't it going to be really expensive to have a whole "collection" of lenses? i mean, I understand every sensor and lens combo is optimised for each other, but that also means you can't switch between 35mm and 50mm primes without having to change the sensor as well. Seems to me that most owners will only have 1 or 2 lenses/sensors and that's it.
If every lens has it own sensor, it will add the cost to the lens. May I know what is the cost of the macro lens? Because it is a proprietary system, you can't get any lenses from others manufacturers. I had hard time when I bought the PEN until Pana introduced some lenses. The cost of the lenses are expensive. For example the price of Pana 45mm macro is similar to latest Canon EF100mm L HIS Macro lens.
However, if you are comparing GXR+A12 with the Leica X1, personally I will choose the GXR+A12 because at least GXR+A12 can manual focus better. There is a german website that do this direct comparison between X1 and GXR and they prefer GXR. Somemore, at least GXR in future I can use the GXR body with new module. For Leica X1, sure to depreciate in straight line wan.
When people buying Leica, the consieration is the IQ, the "Leica Magic" look and the Leica Logo. That's why people are buying Leica DLux 4 instead of Pana LX3.
