Hi, I recently signed up for GR club and transferred the membership fees, but has yet to get a reply from... whoever. Can moderator/admin please advise? Can PM me if this discussion should be off this thread. Appreciate a reply. Thanks.

GR Club is standalone society, please persuade the matter with them. It has nothing to do with ClubSNAP.

I'm curious what were the reasons that made you get the GR in the first place?

I was looking for a new compact camera, saw this thread with a lot of positive feedbacks, decided to give it a shot but in the end i just can't really get use to the interface. Haha..and the problem is we do not have Ricoh or Pentax showroom to have a hands-on before purchase...oh well, mistake made, lesson learnt..some things are just not meant to be..sell it and move on :)

Yah, already put up an ad for it. Anybody interested , do let me know. CHeers!

I'll be frank and I'll make some presumptions.

From your post history, you are pretty new to photography (nice military scale model shots btw)

The guys who use a fixed focal length camera are usually those who already know what they want or at least have a rough idea how the fixed focal length is going to work for them.
Its a risky deal jumping into such a camera based on hype and hearsay.

But that said, if you have the tenacity to follow through and also try to learn from the shots ppl have taken with this focal length (and camera), it will deliver.
Else, it makes no difference if its Coolpix A, GR or even X100s, and you may be better off with something that offers a more variable focal length selection.

I'm not a GR user, but even for lenses on DSLRs, I will need to keep using a specific focal length or new lens for a couple of weeks if not more to get better comprehension of what it can do for me.

My few cents.

If you need some basic photography help with the GR, you can come to the Pentax/Ricoh monthly outing happening this Sat.
That's all I can offer other than asking you to sell and change camera ;)

Thanks for the invite, will try to make it if i have the time. :) Im keeping this tiny powerhouse, starting to warm up to me after a few sessions of bonding :D

I'm still quite new to this GR, do you guys know where to get external charger for this device? Third party charger is fine.

Its the same BJ-6 battery charger from earlier GRDs, if you're lucky you may just find it on BnS going cheap! ;)
