Asahi Pentax GR Zhng!

I am able to pull through my old Crumpler strap into the small strap eyelet of the GR. Great!

Super Nice!!

GRD the original one was similar and much noisier and slower. this is aloooot better already.. it takes some practice.. for now i am super happy with me.. always in snap mode!!!

GRD IV was more accuraten faster.

try spot focus, else you can faster sell away while its still hot and get Nikon then no problem

Nay... Ricoh still the best and i've used GRD 1 till GR, Ricoh is still the best as none has come close in many aspects in comparison. I can live with the slow and inaccurate macro focus as i seldom use it. :)

GRD IV was more accuraten faster.

GR IV was indeed faster.

But I also felt there's also a different level of expectation. With the GR IV, we have super close macro capabilities, and with it's ability to focus faster than GR, sub-consciously I kept going too near to the subject. As a result, I felt "darn, why can't it focus", and when I move back a bit more, "hey, it focusing right."

Anyways, just my experience and sharing.

This is the first time in few years that I took photos overseas without my DLSR.
I am really happy with the camera.

Compact camera really attract less attention for street shots?
The quality of the image is very similar to my DSLR.

The following are some of the photographs that I just took in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam)
I have no time to do post processing yet. All photos are taken in Raw and later converted to jpg using Google Picassa.

Thanks for the tip, Sanfong! GR n00b here. This will free up one customisable control! =) This will be my first GR. Starting to like it already. There's so much customisation it'll take some time to learn.

...
I usually set the way how i shoot way back from GRD 1 until GRD 3. GRD 4 change my habit because it has different steps to change Snap distance. Then Ricoh revert to the usual way of changing the Snap distance in GR. YES la!!! Sui la!!! The first thing I usually turn off the On/Off lamp then next set fn1 to AF/SNAP. To change Snap distance just hold 'up', scroll front wheel to select distance, release and shoot. Unlike GRD 4 I set Snap distance to fn2 (Self-timer button), step 1 press fn2 step2 press 'up' & 'down' to select distance, step 3 press ok and shoot. More buttons to pressed for GRD 4.
...

Btw, just a silly question : there's mention of a "one press M mode" and aperture priority/shutter priority/program. How do I get to it? What does it do? Can't seem to understand what the manual is saying. LOL... =P

I've also realised that when in macro mode, full press snap focus will still hunt. Strange... Is this the correct behaviour?
Edit : Ok, just read the manual. Full press snap is not available in macro mode.
