What speed, brand of SD cards do you guys use for the GR?
Is it necessary to go for Sandisk, untra/extreme series?

No point lowering the price. For every GRD they sell, they sell 10 LX1s or 50 F11s. Price becomes a secondary issue. You were right to buy it when it was launched.

I used Kingston Elite Pro 1gb, speed wise is acceptable. Like all compacts, I doubt the camera can take full advantage of hi-speed cards. Get normal speed card can liao

I have 2 cards, oce Extreme3 and the other Nagwara which came together when I bought my GRD at the IT Show. They both operate at the same speed when I take a picture using raw mode. Thus my experience is that there is no difference. Maybe the transfer is faster b'w card to PC?

Thanks, definitely a pain writing raw on GR.
27blinks on a untra2, 35 blinks on a normal card.

Extreme 3 took abt the same number of blinks. Thus unless we are taking our photo in extreme environment, I guess ultra 2 will do just fine. I read in another forum that we can use the Panansonic battery. The ricoh one is abt $58. Anyone know what is the price or model of the panasonic battery that fit GRD?

I saw the price $990 quoted around here. just wondering if that includes the 21mm wide angle lens/adapter? if its "each-sold-separately", what would be the additional cost?

Yes there is. I bought 1 from MS color. Apparently it's the same one being used in some Panasonic cam I think.

As for IR, it works great. Those IR photos on the 1st page of my IR Photography section in my gallery are all taken using GRD.

Oh, no wonder the shape looks familiar. I saw from the spec that it can use 2 x AAA too. This is the first time i come across in a camera... quite good like that.

Yah kinda cool actually. When the battery is taken out, the build in batt holder for AAA pops up. But AAA doesn't last, its only good as a back up.

Some doubts on the built in flash. I find that the output power of the built in flash's not consistent...Anyone to confirm on that?
