Ricoh GR Digital users fall in!

Hey guys... just got on the boat with a used GRD from Tokyo this weekend. Was thinking of a GX100, but thought the fixed 28mm lens on the GRD is much more fun. Now thinking about the optical viewfinder and the 21mm conversion lens, but the viewfinder is quite expensive!!!

Hi to all GRD users.

I'm just wondering anyone using f/w 2.31 is experiencing frequent camera hang problems. Seems to happen once in a while ever since i use this f/w version.

I did send my camera for servicing also, but still sometimes it occurs. Anyone has any idea or encountering same issues?

Hi All, just could not resist the built quality of the GR-D. Hop onto the band-wagon a couple of weeks ago. Bought one in pristine condition from a Cser. Still looking for the GV1(view finder) and the GW1(21mm conversion lens)but to no avail. Tried posting in the buy/sell but no response. If anyone had spotted one locally, please drop me a mail. Thanks.

I need help to confirm something on the GRD camera.

Does it make any noise when you try to focus? Not referring to the beeping sound once focussed

Please help me, GRD users out there

my gx100 makes funny robotic sound when it try to focus. :bsmilie:

just got a 2nd hand GRD. Any old birds here can give tips on how to fully ultilise this beauty?
I usually use compact point and shoot digital cameras. not so sure about shutter speed and apertures....
If u guys have any meetups to discuss, do let me know.
:)

looks good
Why did u set iso so high?

to induce more noise or have grainy effects :bsmilie: and to test how well this camera cope at high iso.

i suggest you keep it to the lowest when shooting during daytime, unless you know what you want to achieve. shoot some pic and post here ;)

Hi there. I've sold my GRD but still have the accessories (GH-1, GV-1 and GW-1) for sale. Check them out in the buy/sell thread. Thanks.

Had my GRD for abt 3 weeks, then it just died on me - it won't start up.
Anyone encountered the same issue?

How long did Sigma/Audio & Photo take to service your camera?

can you try a master reset?

try this from the ricohform.. here

the grd was actually 'dead', it wouldn't switch on.
so i don't see how the master reset will work.

in anycase, good news, all of a sudden it's working fine again when
i pressed the power button.

a little too unreliable for comfort though.

i broke my LCD screen for my GRD. any idea it can be fix? if so how much and where should i bring to?
thanks

anyone selling Ricoh GR pls kindly pm me or sms me at 93371936.

guys i need couple of advise here ... i am looking at buying this camera but after reading the review.... im kinda confused and wasnt really impressed. pls enlighten me.

reviews were saying that GR has soft output compared to the likes of powershot s80 and other 8meg pixel.

Its really sad to read the comments below :

Firstly the GR-D's output is a little on the soft side (you can make things look a lot crisper if you use software sharpening, but you're not going to get a lot more detail). It's also - for such a wide lens - surprisingly consistent from edge to edge, with little (if any) drop off in sharpness at the corners. Color is accurate and subtle (much more so than the Canon), and overall the impression is that the GR-D is avoiding the 'over-processed' look common to most compact digital cameras. Of course this means the results are a touch noisier and less 'punchy' (and as mentioned, softer) than many competitors.

To be honest I was expecting something a little more impressive from the GR-D; these images are lacking in 'bite' and if you sharpen then you start to see noise, which limits what you can do with the JPEG output.

avoid the camera, guess its not your cup of tea from what you expect of a "good" image.

i know a few bought GRD for its noise though.
