As per Dave / ZoomP's excellent suggestion! Lets do Malacca again!!!

We would need drivers/cars of course, the more cars we have, the more people can attend.
Each car would be limited to 3 passengers + 1 driver of course.

Fuel/toll/touch & go etc. cost will be shared by passengers which shouldn't cost you more $20 to get there & back if I remember correctly the last time!

I think we can do the same excellent route we did the last time.

Venue: Malacca
Meeting Point: Jurong East National Library Roundabout.
Time: 7am
Date: 19th March 2011

So this is a day trip? There and back on the same day?

What route was used the last time?

great idea.. was thinking should we stay overnight so it'll be less tiring, especially for the drivers.. felt so bad with everyone in the car falling asleep except for the drivers on the long return drive..

would also be nice to soak in more of the night life and atmosphere, and checkout the watering holes along the river/canal.. would also give us the opportunity to catch some first light shots in the morn..

what do u guys reckon?

Agree, would be nice to shoot there at night too and not so tiring. Only problem will be for the fathers/husbands in the group.

Maybe we can charter a bus instead for the whole trip.

Yeah will be tough for me to make it an overnight trip though tempting it is.

I am up for that to. I don't mind traveling by bus, it is easy enough to get a bus from the travel agencies at Golden Mile.

It would definitely be better if we could enjoy a good feed and few beers around Jonker street at night. I understand that it would be difficult for some so maybe we can have 2 groups (one for day trip and one for overnight stay).

If we wanna push it, we can start off at 7am, eat and shoot till late, have dinner, and shoot, bus back without sleeping :bsmilie:. This way, we dont need to plan for accomodation, and the bus driver would drive, while we close our eyes after tons of beer from Gary.

I'll go checkout the bus prices & timings at golden mile later..

lol!

Seems like this time getting a bus is great.

I'm fine with staying over or just a day trip actually. Will have to check the numbers first.

I would suggest early morning to Malacca & return trip, let you guys decide. Ernest, can we get the big double deck bus with personal TV? heehee

Anyway, if we do have enough cars, I think we could stick to the cars. Lets see how the numbers come up first.

I shld be able to make it too

Toll

Tuas Check point - $3.80 x 2
Tanjung Kupang Check point - RM 8.70 x 2
Lima Kedai Rm3.80 x 2
Ayer Keroh RM 24.50 x 2

Patrol

Around RM 120 - RM 150

Total + - RM200 = +- SGD 84

:D

Thanks Danny.

You forgot to add the "ang pow" if we are sway is SGD50 for donation to M'sia highway patrol :bsmilie:

Anyway, we will see how this goes. If we do have enough cars to take us up with 3 passengers in each car, that would be lovely. If not, it would be either pay per pax for the bus up. Or we could charter one.

As for staying over night. I'll leave it up to you guys.

Based on my experience of shooting Malacca, the real malacca street shoot starts at 9-12noon.

Its interesting shooting the locals going about their daily trade etc. Afternoon its a good time for lunch & lepak at geographical's cafe for beer. We still own Roger beer there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evening slight shooting at Jonker but didnt really appeal to me, just a normal pasar malam on the street. Night yes, loads of bars around the river to drink up ;)

Or... we could rent cars?
