Not quite a regular affair, but some of us do gather once in a while over a meal or coffee.

Today's was a small group and a cozy affair, but with some legendary optics. Here's part of the stash...

The book on the lower left hand corner is the out of print Leica copies by HPR. 1994, Classic Collection Publications. 416 pages. Quite an interesting reference on LTM cameras.

Cheers,

It's a TRAP !! :bsmilie:

Wow.. those are nice looking lenses

remind me never to attend one of these meets.

it's like crashing head-on with gear lust. :)

Not poison. No gear for sale so no worries about GAS.... Just a casual gathering and we talk about anything. From exchange rates trends, service quality of Singapore Post, the Singapore weather and humidity levels, etc, etc. :D

However, if you do feel faint from exposure to too much gear, we have the good doctor on hand to recommend immediate relief.

ISO 200, 1/23 sec f/2.0 on AE Mode. Tanaka Kogaku Tanar 50mm f/2.0 on Epson R-D1.
Unsharpened JPEG image converted from RAW format in Adobe Photoshop CS2. Bright and exposure adjustments and white balance correction.

I think my hands weren't steady enough at 1/23 sec, but this Sonnar clone sure is a nice lens.

Cheers,

never jio !!!

You cannot join us. You always want to buy everything and can be very impulsive. Just like last weekend. :bsmilie:

If your 'fever' subsides, then come for the next session in May loh.

You faint again once you see his bill :bsmilie:

Sure.. Maybe we'll put up a notice here as well.

Here's a picture of the book that was introduced to me during this session.

Fascinating references for other LTM besides Leica.

That's not very challenging for him.. he already has all the lux and crons... only left the noct to complete the collection.

Misconceptions and misunderstandings!

That's the problem when you are trying to hold a conversation with people who are busy fondling their gear. They don't listen.....

I don't have a complete Canon rangefinder collection and have no intention to get there. My main interest is only in the 30 over pieces of LTM lenses and maybe a few LTM bodies. The Hansa Canons and the J mounts are way beyond me. Seiki Kogaku also holds no interest for me. The 300 over pieces of RF related accessories are also a nightmare to collect due to scant documentation and too many variations. Almost cough blood trying to get matching hoods for the lenses.

As for Leica, I have a few loose pieces here and there, nothing to shout about and certainly not worthy to be labeled "collectible". Mostly modern optics and just shooting copies or loaners when I don't want to risk damage to my Canon or Voigtlander lenses.

Besides, the 'Minister of Home Affairs' have recently issued a decree - "Enough hor!"
