Don't be too early to say this. A meterless M2-M3 will cost around 1.3K. Add a meter (Sekronic 208) for 300 and a Japanese lens around 500. Will cost you around 2.1K
lol!
Mr Zoom Zoom poisoning ppl

didnt know there is such option.
hmmm
cathay retails the sekonic 208 for $120; so going by zoomp's figures, the set will now set you back below $2k ;p
:bsmilie:look at what you've done zoomp! hehe
Hmm... I'm trying to keep the budget as low as 1.5K and at most up to $2400 which I guess should be sufficient to cater for a New Bessa RxA/M and perhaps a 50mm/f1.1 Nokton, 35mm/f1.2 Nokton, 40mm/f1.4 Nokton (S.C / M.C) or 35mm/f1.4 Nokton (S.C & M.C versions)cathay retails the sekonic 208 for $120; so going by zoomp's figures, the set will now set you back below $2k ;p
Thanks for sharing your thought.for 35mm, another lens that you may want to consider is the voigtlander 35mm f2.5. slower than the f1.2 and f1.4 of course, but a good performer. same applies to the voigtlander 50mm f2.5.
an r2a/m along with the 35mm f2.5 should be under $1.5k and you would have a good combination to start with. the earlier you get it, the faster you can shoot and enjoy taking pictures![]()

At the moment I am not jumping into this unless I am pretty sure which Bessa and the Focal length best suit my need.
- I'm look at 35mm f1.2 or f1.4 as this seem to be the best FL for street (at least for me)
- I'm look at 40mm f1.4 as FL is somewhat in between 35 and 50mm and this lens is the cheapest of all three. But I would need to get this with a R3.
- IQ of 50mm/f1.1 Nokton seem to be the best but I already have a DSLR lens that is at this focal length though I am pretty sure the output of the RF should be sharper than a DSLR. I do not really like the ideal of the same focal length on diff camera system which I went through before.
Just go for the 35mm F1.4
Go down to Chiif shop's, take a look at the size & weight difference![]()
I'm just bias towards small & fast lenses![]()
Agree with RWC. Just stick to one lens for now, or atleast for the next 10 shoots, then compare your shots with other sifu's pics. Study them against yours, then think again if RF is your thing, and whether your current set up floats your boat.. good luck to you and enjoy!
ps: i resisted buying a 2nd lens till 6 months after my camera+lens purchase, that was a 6 months cold-turkey period for me.

Went to Chiif shop last night and he spend some of his time with me in providing detail info of using a flim RF.Just go for the 35mm F1.4

Yup, in fact I am looking for 1 RF and 1 Lens for street photography.Agree with RWC. Just stick to one lens for now, or atleast for the next 10 shoots, then compare your shots with other sifu's pics. I'm resisting it now cos I still havent feel the power of RF.haha!
I resisted Leica for 3 years before finally getting a M.
For lenses, my resistance for red dot lens still very strong but my resistance for blue dot lens is damn weak
Zeiss
