Hi guys! I'm thinking of renting a shop for my production business. Anyone has any idea what are the costs involve besides the fixed monthly rental and SC/CC fees? :)

Well, the following cost may apply (depending on the landlord).

1) Monthly Rental
2) Air Con
3) Utility Bill
4) Insurance (Some landlord need you to buy third party liability)

Other running cost you need to consider,
Phone Bill, Broadband, Cleaner (unless you clean up the place yourself, or get your employee to do it), Season Carpark....

Dont forget 2+1. 2 months deposit, 1 month actual.

I.e, if the space costs you SGD 1,000, you will need SGD 3,000.

and the licenses..
Are u in partnership or running alone?
u may consider sharing your premises? which area u looking at? hmm.. i maybe interested.. ;)but why a shop instead of an office which maybe cheaper in rental? u need walk in customers? :dunno:

If our office bigger (expanding soon) can rent you a desk (cheap) in our office http://camerarental.biz/ (good traffic) haha! (serious).

A desk may not be enough.. i may need atleast a bed room size space.. many parang parang.. :(

hey thanks for the advices so far guys! I almost left out the consideration of broadband and air-conditioning on top of the rent and utilities bills. I've heard of cheap rentals of office space on the outskirts of town...wonder if anyone knows.

Wah...Kenny, thanks for the kind offer leh! But high human traffic means high rent right? keke..

oh ya Sundazz, PM me and we can see how we can work together to find ourselves a "home". ;)

Hi lemon, I'm currently own a music studio and have a spare room (one bedroom size) somewhere in middle road. I am thinking of leasing the room. At the same time I also into photography. PM me for more details.

Broadcast means whatever that I am producing is shown on national television right?

broadcast refers to transmitting over-the-air, satellite, cable networks or the Internet, etc, and for public viewing.
Best is to check with MDA for the licensing.:)
