Hi fellas,

Do we actually have permission to shoot on the temple grounds whilst this procedure is underway?

I'm sure individuals do, but if we are going down as a group of 15 or so I'm just wondering if they will allow it.

I'm really contemplating on going, it looks like a whole new photographic experience to me

DoveVader, you've been previously, so I was wondering if you knew what the lighting conditions are like there? Think neo1600 + a summilux would suffice?

ok. everyone is welcome to celebrate. Just put your shoes in your bag. You may enter anywhere but I prefer the exterior. Whole lot of photographers will come in dawn and crowd outside snapping away the march off, but then we would have gotten all our shots..anyway, for your info, we wouldnt hang out and shoot in whole group of 15! all will break up in 1-2 and loiter around and be the stealthy shooter we all love to be. Just row call at 0300-0315 then finish ard 0630 outside the temple, by then most of the kavali bearers would have started their march to Tank road temple already.

It was dark outside the temple as everywhere there are percing going on. To be frank, I was struggling with my summilux on 800iso film (I always try not to go below the "danger zone") so if you are on 1600 and maybe push 1-2 stops, it will be comfortable. but 400 also can, if you have steady hands... but at that kind of hours....

I think I have very steady hands after a few pints of Guinness Draft. :bsmilie:

I've only got iso800 film stock at home at the moment.. Hopefully it would be alright, havent shot color for quite sometime, would be a good exercise. Most likely would use Nokton or my canon ltm.

I have got a friend who also drink before each session of shooting...somehow he told me he shoot better after a can or 2...

for me, after a can or 2..most prob i be sleeping some where comfortably...
