Hello folks,

I thought I checked in with the opinions of Manly Departmental Store in Chinatown. Any thoughts ? I have not bought from them before. Thus, checking with the rest here.

Cheers !

bought some stuff from them before. friendly and good pricing. uncle said why price is low coz no business. poor thing, i think if they don't have some more sales, gonna close down.

Manly store is a good place to start sure they have many outlets..if u want cheaper prices..go Ebay n there's a seller representor from manly selling cheaper prices for locals..with a few things added up in ur basket n he can sweeten the deal somemore..i saved a **** load buying from him..

I bought my camera from them. I am very happy with their service and pricing.

Yes, the sales person is friendly and polite. The price is cheaper than other places I visit. Andrew is the person who is the representer from eBay. The price u see from ebay he post is cheaper if u contact him directly....

They are nice and friendly, bought some items from them.

They are fine, I bought my K5 spare battery from them after seeing other Pentaxians' recommendation here in CS.

Just to note though, not every store can give you best pricing for everything, and you may sometimes encounter the "bad egg" in the family... So caveat emptor - always exercise due dilligence and do your homework on prices before you go. If it is too good to be true, it often is.

Bought stuffs from them a few days back. Competitive pricing and excellent service

I checked with them on Monday and was told stock coming on Wed.
TOday is Thursday and yet the stock has not arrived.
I really hope that it's the supplier that's having problem and not them.
Shall give them till tomorrow to see what's the outcome.

you paid already for the item?

i bought several lenses from them, accdg to my window shopping they are the lowest...warranty is local and quite reliable...
the boss is friendly but not always in the shop, i always call him 1st negotiate and just pick up the item to his shop, their staffs aren't that friendly though just passive people,
pass the item to you, i pay, they issue receipt, no talk,,,,, :bsmilie:

Bought a camera bag from them some time ago, after seeing the good prices on their eBay site. When I went down there, only 2 uncles were around. They seemed blur when I asked them how much was the bag (I know the eBay price, but still asked for politeness and to confirm). They don't know and even asked me what was the price I saw on eBay. Lol. I act blur and said dunno. In the end they called Andrew who later confirmed the price.

All in all, its a decent shop with some really good bundle deals if u scrutinise the eBay listings. Don't have to worry about any unscrupulous practises unlike shops in SLS.

Yea the uncle's there mostly will refer u to Andrew cause most of the time locals go there for Andrews price.=)..they are there to run the shop.so it's good to bond with them...other shops the staff don't care cause they think they know so much....only want money..

I was having dinner with my missus at Chinatown earlier and passed by the shop. The shop was empty and the racks were quite empty. I spoke to a chap a little plumb whom he addressed himself as Peter. Then an elderly chap joined in our conversation. But I did not get his name but he seems to be able to call the shots.

Friendly people. Perhaps they thought I was a tourist. Overall it was a good experience.

Yea the elderly chap is the boss =)..
