SB28 is very slightly smaller and lighter than the SB80DX. I bought it coz it was the smallest and yet most powerful autoflash I could find.

Works well on my old manual SLR and digicam, nice weight balance.

I have both flashes right now and can say the SB-80DX is smaller.. it's a wee bit, but since you were nitpicking..

Thank you, everyone, for the good advice. Guess I must had strained some muscles yesterday, 'coz the SB-80dx felt so darn heavy. :p But now I'm feeling ok, and the weight seems more manageable. Looks like I'll keep the flash afterall. :D

I also have the SB-80DX - came across it more by accident - bought a AF-S 24-85 and found out that it didn't have a local guarantee card... the shop wanted to change for another lens but I could see a fleck under the glass which could not be cleaned. In the end, I changed it for the SB-80DX which was the same list price.

All in all, I have been pretty happy with it, being able to bounce off walls that give a much softer appearance.

The difference is only 100g... (235g vs 335g) which is equivalent to only four AA batteries... on top of that, you'll lose a lot selling it second hand.... good luck

CORRECTION...... The difference is 150g after loading batteries equivalent to six AA batteries...

The difference is before loading in the batteries though. After adding batteries, the difference would be more (maybe 130-180g)...

dos FM3A support Motor Drive, if yes add the motor drive in, will help you balance the cam...;)

yes, it is the MD12, but that will give too much weight with a flash on top. More than 2kg definitely...maybe close to 3kg wif lens. :(
