Regarding the logo

Sorry, can't resist.

The logo just reminds me of the logos of many Singapore govt. bodies and stat boards and others.

Ministry of Manpower: http://www.mom.gov.sg/
Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority: http://www.ava.gov.sg/JAVASCRIPT/main-ie.html
Defence Science and Technology Agency: http://www.dsta.gov.sg/
Health Promotion Board: http://www.hpb.gov.sg/
Health Sciences Authority: http://www.hsa.gov.sg/
Public Utilities Board: http://www.pub.gov.sg/mainpage.htm

Just a few, I recall seeing a lot more!

cheers to the logo designer :)
:embrass: thanks for the thumbs up.

anyway, i do realize my logo resembles a lot of corporate logos (swooshes and curves are all the rage now), but there's tens of thousands of logos out there now and well, there's no way to avoid looking even remotely like someone else's. i think what's more important is that the Clubsnap message comes across - that we're all a buncha light-lovers (after all, it is all about Light, and the basis of what we all do usually has something to do with RGB. hope that explains my thinking when i dreamt this one up... :D

Hi guys,

I will be as objective as I can without offending any parties. Please do not take my comments personally as I'm not refering to any person in particular.

Designing a logo is not easy at all. Have tried once to do it but they all fell flat. Later commissioned some designers to do the job and saw how designs were conceptualised, designed, tweeked and finally, birthed. The process took about 1 month and the final result was not as fantastic as I've put in my mind's eye.

Designs that are simple, with clean lines are those that really stick in our minds, even though they may not create an initial 'WOW'. Those with complicated and flowery designs may impress at first glance, but seldom leave an indelible mark. When I say 'McDonalds', you'll think 'the golden arches', 'Nike', and the 'swoosh' (I prefer to call it the 'tick') comes to mind.

For those who lamblast the design, maybe you'd like to come up with a design and post it here for us to critique.

As for me, I would like to appreciate the designer's time, patience and creative juices, in creating a simple, yet elegant design. I think we ought to vocalise appreciation more.

What was said about critiquing photos applies here; one should not let the fact that 2000 man hours and 20 people behind a photo or a logo cloud your judgement.
