That being said, the Sony DSLR cameras that DO have live view, such as the A550, etc, do it right. Fast, full-speed AF (unlike Canon and Nikon) and a tilting LCD for ground level / over the head shots.
No DOF preview... it's been taken out of the lower end bodies... do you still use it? I just use the LCD to chimp these days... also I don't use f/2.8 lenses, so it's pretty hard to see the change in DOF through a dimmer lens...
don't use it all the time. but is a nice features to have a preview.
I try not to preview after taking photo(s), this will force myself to be more dependent on my knowledge than the technology. and it save battery "juice" too
